Daily Mass (Monday - Friday) Schedule remains the same - 7AM at St. Brigid and 9AM at Gate of Heaven

This change is based on Mass attendance the past 2 years, as well as the availability of priests 52 weekends a year. 20 years ago there were 4 full-time priests ministering for the same number of Masses, Funerals, Weddings, Bap-

tisms, etc. Today we have 2 full-time priests (Fr. Casey and Fr. Boyle) and the gift of a “priest in residence” (Msgr. Liam). With vacations, retreats, days off and other responsibilities - there may only be one priest available on many weekends. We thank the many visiting priests for their continued ministry to our Parishes, but we understand their

many responsibilities elsewhere. Thank you for your understanding.

South Boston Catholic Academy was happy to welcome back all of the students this past week! We are thrilled with over 480 students enrolled. Students in grades K2 through 6 began on Tuesday, September 7 with morning prayer, ready to meet their new teachers, classmates, and start the school year. On Thursday, Sept. 9, the Early Education students headed back for their 1st day and the upper grades celebrated Mass with Fr. Casey & Fr. Boyle. Vietnam Memorial The Annual Vietnam Memorial Mass will take place on SSun-day, Sept. 12th at St. Brigid Church at 10:30AM. Following Mass there will be a ceremony across the street at Medal of Honor Park. Chairman of the JJoint Chief of Staff, General

Mark Milley will be the speaker at Medal of Honor Park. All are invited to remember those men from South Boston who died during the Vietnam War and to honor all those who

served and continue to serve in the US Armed Forces.

Before coming to Bos-ton I worked with migrants and refuges in Austral-ia, as well as young people in the criminal justice system.
