First Friday Adoration Join us on Friday, September 4 for First Friday Adoration and Benediction from 7 to 8 p.m. Come and spend some quiet time before our Lord. Let Him touch you with the
peace, love and healing that only He can give.
Garden News – Thank You Many thanks to all who have worked so hard to produce the success of our garden ministry. We are in the home stretch as summer wanes and our gardens produce a bounty of good nutrition for the food pantries.
This week we delivered 100 lbs. of a variety of vegetables bringing the season's total to date to 634 lbs. donated. Several people have donated from their home gardens and we thank them
also. There are still a few weeks of harvesting left and we hope to reach our goal of 1,000 lbs.
SENIOR LUNCHEON
Our monthly Senior Luncheons will resume on Tuesday, September 8th at noon in the church hall. Please bring a dish to share, salad, main dish or dessert. If you would like transportation, please call the parish office 860-633-3317 on Monday so we can arrange a ride.
Bring along a photo taken this summer and share it with us. It might be of a vacation place you enjoyed or a person you enjoyed time with over the summer. Invite a friend to come, too, or if you know of someone who has never attended one of our luncheons, please invite them to join you. We look forward to friendly conversation and good food.
Prayer Shawl Ministry The next meeting of the Prayer Shawl Ministry will be September 19 in the church hall from 9:30 until 11:30 AM. New members are always welcome. If you have questions call Jean Nolan 860-646-4955.
The parish office will be closed Monday, September 7th in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
TWENTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
Annual Parish Picnic
Sunday, September 13, 2015 Following 11:00 a.m. Mass
We are still looking for volunteers to bring a food item to the picnic. There is a poster board in the narthex with tear off reminders and containers for those who are willing to bring a food item. We are also looking for volunteers (especially teen volunteers) to help out on the day of the picnic. There are sign-up sheets on the poster boards in the narthex. DON’T FORGET THAT SIGN-UP FOR THE 2016 MISSION TRIP WILL TAKE PLACE AT THE PICNIC! If anyone would like to donate flowers from their garden to brighten the picnic tables, please deliver them to the church hall on Saturday, September 12, 2015, between 3 and 5:00 p.m. We will have vases with water left in the church hall for you to leave your flowers. They will be broken into smaller bouquets early Sunday a.m. by our volunteers as they set up the tables. Finally, there will be a brief picnic planning meeting for adult volunteers in the church hall on Tuesday, September 1, at 7:00 p.m. Join us if you can!
Congratulations Sister Mary! This year at the annual parish picnic we will also celebrate Sister Mary’s 60th anniversary as a Sister of Mercy. On September 8, 1955 Sister Mary entered the Sisters of Mercy in Madison, CT.
