It gives me immense pleasure to introduce GITAM, to all the aspiring students. Since it’s inception in 2008, GITAM is treading its systematically chartered path of empowering minds to conquer. With the student in its prime slot of focus we’re trying to create a breed of qualified, innovative & dynamic professionals for corporate sectors, the service industry, for self‐employment and for academic & research institution’s of socio‐economic importance. Our competent faculty and state‐of‐the‐art infrastructure, together with compulsory six months internship programme at the industry of repute help them in developing their overall personality to meet the challenges at global level with optimum solution.

Prof.(Dr.) Aman Aggarwal carries with him 25 years of experience of Industry, Academia & Research. He was the Topper of his school, University Topper in B.Tech, College Topper in M.Tech and completed his Ph.D in shortest permitted time from NIT, Kurukshetra. He was adjudged as the “ Best Teacher Award” at Maharaja Agrasen Institute of Technology, Delhi.He has represented India in a project on “Feasibility Study of Renewable Energy Potential in Asia” sponsored by Kyoto University, Japan. He was selected as a Secretary of Sustainable Energy and Environment Forum in the year 2010 in the Annual General Meeting held at IIT, Delhi. He has visited Indonesia, Vietnam Singapore and Thailand related to SEE forum activities.Had he wished he could have been Professor at DCRUST, Murthal now, but he chose a difficult path and decided to remain in private organizations.

He has published more than 25 Quality Research papers in International and National Journals which includes journals from Elsevier, Springer and Inderscience. He got a grant of Rs. 6 Lacs under MODROB scheme from AICTE for upgradation of Labs. He has guided a Ph.D student and many more are pursuing their Ph.D under him. He is member of Board of studies at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU, Rohtak).

GITAM has been designated as the NODAL CENTRE for Virtual Labs by IIT Delh i under the subsequent directives issued by MHRD, Govt. of India. This project is a mission of making India exper imenta l ly knowledgeable. The prime objective of GITAM is to make its students conversant with latest technologies so that they can play a vital role in the development of the Nation.

Spoken Tutorial is a unique initiative of IIT Bombay and GITAM is a resource centre for promoting this project. It is a unique Audio‐Visual instructional tool which trains in the distance learning method. The Spoken Tutorial project is the ‘Talk to a Teacher’ activity of the Mission on Education through Information and communication Technology Launched by MHRD, Govt. of India.

In addition to academic knowledge being imparted in the classroom lectures,

GITAM gives additional inputs in the form of Expert Lectures. These lectures are

organized for each department. The students and faculty get an opportunity to

interact with the industry and academia. Faculty Developments Programmes in

association with NITTTR, Chandigarh are conducted Bi‐Annually.

Educational Trips and Excursions are an integral part of GITAM's curriculum. The

importance of Educational Tours includes giving students the chance to build

closer bonds with their classmates, experience new environments and enjoy a

day away from the classroom.Students from every department go for educational trips and excursions

regularly.

The Students’ Welfare Department and the NSS unit conducts Blood Donation

Camps, Tree Plantation Drives, Road Safety Awareness Camps, First Aid

Awareness Camps, Beti Bachao ‐ Beti Padhao Awareness camp & Ganga

Swachata Abhiyan. It also provides the students a platform to showcase their

leadership skills, talents in music, art & craft and literary interest by organising

college level events like Debate, Declamation, Group Discussions etc.

GITAM believes in developing the all round personality of its budding Engineers & Managers. The Institute , therefore,

Organizing regular Job Fairs every year at GITAM Campus is another area where management takes keen interest to facilitate prospective candidates in getting suitable job opportunities as per their abilities, e x p e r i e n c e a n d a c a d e m i c background. On the spot job offers were made to the students of B.Tech, MBA, Diploma, and other graduates. GITAM , because of its industry linkages and strategic location is an ideal place for companies to come and participate in the job fair within the college campus.

The Training and Placement Office functions through its separate office with state‐of ‐the‐art facilities for conducting Pre ‐ Placement Talks, Written Tests, Group Discussions and Interviews. The team is divided into two groups, one grooms the personality of the students and other takes care of placement activities. We have a strong Alumni Network which helps in Placements.

TPO cell has steadily progressed over the years in enhancing the placement potential effectively. Students also got selected in most of the Multinational Companies and Government Sectors through off ‐ campus placement drives.

The college maintains a help desk for students seeking information regarding the upcoming prospective companies for placement. Latest significant information from the Corporate World is also provided to the aspiring students.
