Gamma Calibration Steps:NOTE 1 -If Calibrator on and Calibrator off values are known and a calibration file needs to be created follow from step 14.NOTE 2 -If a calibration file exists, but is not setup just choose Import Cal from File in the Gamma ray calibration pane.
1. Connect the Memory Controller to the Gamma ray module.2. Connect the Memory Controller to the interface box, and interface box to the computer system.3. Apply 12 volts power to the interface box to power the box and Memory tools.4. In SparWorks Memory Production Logging pane select "Auto Program Tool" to build the program and "ACT" for the tool string.5. Once the tool has finished programming, wrap the Gamma ray calibrator around the Gamma ray tool according to the diagram.6. Remove the power from the interface box, then change the toggle switch to set memory tool in the record mode.7. Allow the tool to record data with the "Calibrator on" for approximately 1 minute then remove the calibrator.8. Record "Calibrator off" data for about 1 minute.9. Remove power from the interface box, then change the toggle switch back to the program/download mode position.10. Download the Memory Controller, then select Merge Data.11. Select the log run, then Import the MPLTXXX file containing Gamma ray calibrator responses.12. View Gamma ray curve data and observe the counts/second values for Calibrator on and Calibrator off (record values on paper using pen or pencil).13. Close Merge Data window, and select Setup from the Memory Production Logging pane.14. Choose Calibrations, then highlight Gamma ray.15. Choose Gamma ray as calibration method.16. Enter the Calibrator on, and Calibrator off average Gamma ray counts/second values.17. Enter the Calibrator Value (gAPI) of 14818. Choose Calculate, then Export Cal to File.19. Choose Save, then Save.20. Calibration should be complete.
