Games Walk Performance Festival Information

The Games Walk Performance Festival hasbeen created by The Firestation Centre forArts and Culture in order to open our stages,giving local, emerging and aspiringperformers the chance to get experience ofperforming to an audience with our fullsupport. We’ve been given the Inspire Markby London 2012 in recognition of our workand to celebrate the Olympic spirit and oursupport of current and emerging artistictalent in the South East.

The festival also has a sister project, TheGames Walk Arts Trail which is a series of

interactive art installations that have beencreated on the bridges along the banks of theRiver Thames. If you take the Thames PathNational Trail from Eton to Dorney you willdiscover some of the work created by artistsand the local community. The works rangefrom engraved poetry written by localchildren to an audio installation detailing thelesser known history of the area. We evenhave a very special geocache located at amural project. The trail is designed to getresidents back to using the beautiful river onour door steps. The works are permanent,and will be developing long after the Games.

Aside from a jam-packed year round programme of events, The Firestation also has the bestbar in town. A vibrant, eclectic and relaxed space where you can enjoy a drink on our terrace,a bite to eat on our comfortable sofas, listen to a wide range of music on our jukebox, use ourfree wi-fi and enjoy a cheeky cocktail or two later in the day. We're also opening up our BigScreen for daily Wii Tournaments and events throughout the day! With thousands of peoplevisiting Windsor every day during the Olympics, we'll all need to rest our feet at some point, socome and join us: We're open 7 days a week: Mon - Sat 10am - midnight, Sun 10am - 11pm.
