  Dave Tippett was named the 17th head coach in Coyotes/Jets franchise history on September 24, 2009. The 48-year-old Tippet spent the lastsix seasons as head coach of the Dallas Stars, posting a record of 271-156-65. Under Tippett’s leadership, the Stars won two Pacific Divisiontitles (2002-03 and 2005-06), made the playoffs in five out of six seasons and advanced to the 2008 Western Conference Finals. His 271regular season victories rank 2nd in Stars history.In 2002-03, Tippett led the Stars to the best record in the Western Conference and second-best record in the league while also guiding Dallasto a Division title.
