The League is committed to serving the community with enhanced facilities and updated technology to further the idea of culture, education and camaraderie that has been the primary intent since the League was founded in 1920. For over 100 years the League, has served the Detroit and Irish American population providing cultural programs such as music, dance, Irish language, genealogy workshops and providing a gathering place in the pub and events in the hall. The Emerald Campaign is seeking donations from members, interested patrons, local businesses and corporate funding. After spending 40 years as founder/leader of the legendary Wolfe Tones, Dubliner Derek Warfield a revered singer, songwriter, historian and entertainer throughout the world formed a new band. The Young Wolfe Tones, formed in 2006, contains some of the finest musicians and singers in Irish music.

We are thrilled to announce Derek Warfield and the Young Wolfe Tones return to the Gaelic League on Saturday, November 20,2021. More information to follow on the Gaelic League website this fall.

The SOUND of CORKTOWN The Sound of Corktown is an eight week event held Thursday evenings from August 5th thru September 23rd from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Buskers (musicians) will be stationed along Michigan Avenue from Trumbull Avenue to 14th Street. Please plan to stop in the Gaelic League for some craic, purchase a t-shirt and – or wet your whistle.

Can we count on you to Volunteer? Skilled Trade workers are needed at the Gaelic League for various projects beyond the scope of basic ‘handyman’ work.
