GPS Class The Challenge of Islam, Part 2 Wednesday, November 9th and 16th 7:00 pm in the multipurpose room as we continue our study of Islam. Join us for an important, two week informative DVD Bible study by Sam Shamoun, Part 2, an Arab Christian, as we explore the impact of Islam on the Church, our culture and the world. In Part 2 of this study we will assess key texts from the Qur’an and the Bible, Islamic presuppositions concerning the priority of the Qur’an and the supposed textual corruption of the Bible are considered. In addition, he reviews and clarifies topics like the sonship of believers and the Muslim concept of the Trinity. As the idea of jihad or “holy war” has frequently been in the news the last few years, Shamoun elaborates for non-Muslims exactly what the phases of jihad are. Make plans now to join us for this important and challenging subject as we learn how to bring Jesus to the Muslim community.

Operation Christmas Child (a division of Samarian’s Purse) Continues through November 13 Grace Lutheran Church and Schools are participating in Operation Christmas Child. You and your family have the opportunity to pack a Christmas shoe box filled with the love of Christ and gifts for needy children somewhere in the world. Each shoebox is filled with the gifts you choose (i.e. toys, hygiene items, candy, clothing). Samaritan’s Purse then inserts into the shoebox a Gospel booklet sharing the love and salvation of Jesus in the language of the receiving child. Any shoebox will suffice. Special OCC shoeboxes are available in the Narthex, church office, or school office. Return your packed box to Grace by Sunday, November 13. A $7.00 donation per box is requested to cover shipping/processing costs. If you pay online through Samaritan’s Purse, you may follow your box to its destination. Please see www.samaritanspurse.org/occ for packing label and other information. Call or email Kitty Thweatt with any questions: [email protected] (760)741-6224

If you are visiting we are glad you are here! If you are looking for a church home, we hope Grace Lutheran can meet your needs. Please remember to fill out the yellow attendance card and place it in the offering plate when it is passed during

the service. If you have special prayer needs, please include them on the bottom of the yellow card.

If you would like to request flowers for the altar, please contact JoAnn in the church office: 760-745-0831 ext 113
