feature overview

The Boeing 787-9 is full of innovative features that are brand new to aviation. Larger windows reveal extraordinary views and bathe the cabin in natural light. The environment within the cabin is enhanced with cleaner, fresher air, higher humidity and a lower cabin altitude. This helps you arrive at your destination refreshed. Remarkable fuel efficiency also reduces the impact on the planet.

different? how is the boeing 787-9 dreamliner

The Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner uses 20% less fuel than similar aircraft, making it an environmentally responsible choice.

kinder to the planet

The cabin altitude is the equivalent of 6,000ft, compared with the average cabin altitude of 8,000ft. Cabin humidity has also been adjusted for flying comfort. Higher humidity helps our customers arrive at their destinations feeling refreshed. You’ll disembark with a bounce in your step, ready to take on the world.

about us

Air New Zealand provides uniquely Kiwi journeys to more than 13 million customers who fly to, from and within New Zealand each year. We operate more than 3,500 flights each week, connecting customers to 26 destinations within New Zealand as well as to Australia, the Pacific Islands, Indonesia, China, Japan, Canada, USA and the United Kingdom.

After a history of many firsts, Air New Zealand has earned a global reputation as one of the world’s most innovative airlines. Our Economy Skycouch has transformed the long-haul flying experience and won awards for innovation. Our black Boeing 777-300ER is the world’s largest commercially operated aircraft to be painted all black. We’ve also put an end to check-in queues for our domestic customers and many international customers, thanks to a raft of new automated technologies.

We’ve partnered with international celebrities such as Bear Grylls, Betty White and Jesse Tyler Ferguson to share brand, retail and safety messages in a fresh and innovative way. This allows us to engage with a wide audience and strengthen the Air New Zealand brand around the world.

Now in 2014, we will become the first airline in the world to launch the Boeing 787-9 aircraft and transform the experience of global air travel.
