run-on - a sentence that does not have full stop punctuation at the end
fused run-on - two sentences without any punctuation between them
comma splice run-on - two sentences with a comma between them

period - a punctuation mark ( . ) to indicate the end of a declaratory sentence
semicolon - a punctuation mark ( ; ) which may be used to separate two short sentences which are so closely related they seem to belong in one sentence
