BACKGROUND TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE LIBRARY

LIBRARY LOSES BOOKS TO FLOODS

Bindura University of Science Education, Astra Campus experienced flash floods on Saturday the 3RD of January 2015.

The floods affected over 45 Offices at the campus. The satellite library which caters for over 7000 students and has books for all the Faculties was not spared. The sad development has seen the Library lose over 1000 text books costing an average of $1000 per text. These books are now a write off as they are no longer fit for purpose.

After the floods………………………… Books were destroyed

The floods destroyed a total of 3200 textbooks and over 700 Open Distance Learning Modules

 

Because of the structural defects, the Astra CAMPUS Library was condemned
