APPAREL DESIGN
This module helped me to understand more about design and
how it could be used as a problem solving tool in a
introspective way. Though I had the basic knowledge about
the various aspects of design, it was after this set of three
modules that I understood how to put them together and
make a design more appealing. It also helped me in
improving my visualization and drawing skills, and also my
sense for color and forms. Through these modules I was able
to improve my ability to understand forms in a better way ,
and also basic design thinking, and meaningful designing.
I was more sensitized towards representation through keen
observation, experience and perception.
I was trained to carefully analyze subjects in a micro and
macro way and to represent them in the best possible
manner.
I was also able to understand the different methods of
representation by putting together the components of
drawing, color and composition and also to decide which
method is suitable for what.
MODULE – I DRAWING AND VISUALIZATION
Drawing is used to express one's creativity, and therefore has been prominent in the world of design. Throughout much of history, drawing was regarded as the foundation for designing.
Through this module, I was able to improve the way I visualize a subject and later represent it .
My ability to perceive things became more analytical and I was able to sustain an imagery for a longer time. The same imagery was represented later with the most appropriate and suitable mediums. Throughout this, the subject is elaborated in detail, and interpreted in relation to the purpose.
We were trained in studying nature and drawing the same, to draw human figure and its various postures in the least possible time, with accurate proportions. Also isometric drawing.
Perspective drawing was another technique that I found interesting to learn since it changed the way I looked at things and places.
At the end of this module, I studied the process of block making at the craftsman village Pethapur, and recorded the same in a visual diary by following all the techniques taught throughout the module.

MODULE-II COLOUR &FORM
Color is one of the most fascinating things in this world. One can never even imagine a world without colors.
Through this module I was able to understand the significance and use of colours in detail. I also got to learn color theories ,color interaction, the effect of light on colors, etc.
Through colour theory , I was able to a logical structure for color.
The color wheel, color harmony, and the context of how colors are used were also explored. This helped me to understand why some specific colours are used to depict specific occasions or things.
Observing the effects colors have on each other was also interesting. So was the relationship of values, saturations and the warmth or coolness and also tints, shades and tones.
Also , I got the idea about which colors are best compatible with the other based on the color wheel.
I was also able to appreciate color and form on the basis of physical, psychological and cultural contexts.
As a group, we also learnt how to translate attributes of a place into a 3 dimensional form based on mood boards and color boards.
In the last exercise, we learnt how to represent a place and the emotions and attributes related to it using just colors.

MODULE- III STRUCTURE AND COMPOSITION
This was one of the most fun filled module.
Through this module I learnt gestalt principles namely law of
proximity , similarity, closure, symmetry, continuity and figure
and ground. Gestalt is a psychology term which means
"unified whole". These theories attempt to describe how
people tend to organize visual elements into groups or
unified wholes when certain principles are applied.
Then we were made to represent a rasa in the form of an
composition.
After that we were made to show the interaction between
oneself and the environment.
What followed was a series of abstract skits and dynamic
composition involving auditory and visual experiances through
which I got to learn the basics of the components of a good
composition .
We also got to work in group and our final project was a five
minute composition incorporating our learning and a specific
area in the campus and how effectively we used our selected
space in our composition.
