A simple dice can be used in many ways in the classroom: as a quick game or filler, or to practise new vocabulary or revise words and phrases from previous units. Use the dice you received in the post (or print out your own template at www.hueber.de/goto/dice) to practise the following six common prepositions: for, in, on, out, to and up. For practice with specific verbs at levels A2 and B1, you can print out the sheets on Pages 2 and 3. At lower levels, simply write ask, find, get and go on the board. Here are some ideas for using the dice, with or without the worksheets below: Students take turns rolling the dice and combining the preposition with a verb. get up Students take turns rolling the dice and forming a sentence with the preposition and a verb. I get up at 7 o’clock every morning. Students take turns rolling the dice and making up a story, with each sentence containing a preposition. Students can tell the story orally or write it down as they go. Rapunzel got up very early that morning because it was her birthday! She combed her hair and put her favourite dress on. Depending on how competitive your students are, you can reward them with a point for each correct expression or sentence. Students who roll “Hueber” receive an extra point!
