WELCOMEWelcome to Saint Patrick Catholic School’s Wolfhound Weeks Summer Programs! Our goal is to provide a fun, safe environment where students can learn and grow. We offer programs for rising PK4 students through 12th grade students in the areas of fine arts, theater, sports, academics, leadership, and other specialty programs. Students who attend camps can look forward to acquiring new skills, discovering talents, improving knowledge and exploring new experiences. Please contact Mark Ryan with any questions.

REGISTRATION & PAYMENTEarly registration is encouraged. Camp sizes are limited. Families are encouraged to register online where payment can be made using a credit card or e-check. Payment in full, including Before and After Care, is due with your registration. Visit www.stpcs.org. Registration forms with payment may also be mailed to Saint Patrick Catholic School ATTN: Wolfhound Weeks.

REFUNDS, TRANSFERS, AND WITHDRAWALSA refund will only be given if requested in writing more than two weeks prior to the start of the session in which the camper is enrolled. Fifteen percent (15%) of the camp fee is nonrefundable. Campers withdrawn less than two weeks prior to the start of camp are responsible for the full tuition. In the event of an injury or illness, a doctor’s note will be required and a refund (minus 15%) will be given. Transfers are permissible up to two weeks prior to the start of camp. A $20 transfer fee will be applied.

CAMP CANCELLATIONSSaint Patrick Catholic School reserves the right to modify any camp or cancel camps with insufficient enrollment. If a camp is cancelled by the school, a full refund will be given or may be applied to another camp. In the event that Saint Patrick Catholic School must close one day for an unforeseen event (i.e., inclement weather), no refunds will be given. EXTENDED CAREThe Extended Care program provides parents with extended hours of care. Before Care opens at 7:30 am and After Care is available until 5:30 pm. Crafts and games are available during this time, and campers are asked to bring a snack.

Pre-Registration is required to ensure adequate staffing. Request for extended care enrollment within the two weeks prior to camp may be denied. Register online at www.stpcs.org. Payment for Extended Care is accepted in the form of check or credit card and is expected at the time of registration. Extended Care services begin the week of June 13th and run through August 5th. All programs are closed July 4th.

FORMSPrior to the start of camp, each camper must have a Medical Form on file. A Pick-Up Authorization Form must be provided as well. Additions and deletions can be made by logging into your camp account. They must be completed and returned by the first morning of camp.

MEDICATIONIf a camper needs to take medication during the camp day, parents must contact the Director of Summer Programs. A separate form will be sent to the parent for specific instructions and a doctor’s authorization. This form and the medication must be given to the Director of Summer Programs. This includes, but is not limited to, EpiPens and inhalers.

LUNCHAll full-day campers are asked to bring a lunch and two snacks. Half-day campers are asked to bring a snack. All lunches and snacks should be labeled with the camper’s name. There will be no refrigerator available for camper use.

FOOD ALLERGIESSaint Patrick Catholic School cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment for students with food allergies. Our goal is to minimize the exposure to allergens that pose a risk to those students. In this vein, we ask that all snacks and lunches be peanut and tree nut free.

HAWAIIAN SNOThe Hawaiian Sno truck will visit Wolfhound Weeks every Thursday this summer! All campers will have the opportunity to visit the truck for a cool treat. The cost is included in all camp registration fees.

DAILY SIGN-IN & SIGN-OUTParents must accompany their camper(s) through the black side gate off Westmoreland Avenue to sign-in and sign-out their camper(s) each day. Parents may drop off their camper(s) 15 minutes prior to the start of camp without enrolling in Before Care. Campers who remain 15 minutes past the conclusion

of their camp will be enrolled in, and charged for, After Care.

CLOTHING & EQUIPMENTPlease label all clothing and equipment with the camper’s name. Saint Patrick Catholic School is not responsible for any lost clothing or equipment. All campers attending athletic camps should wear proper athletic attire (i.e., tennis shoes). All campers are required to wear closed-toed shoes.

LOST & FOUNDThere will be a lost and found located in the Dining Hall. Camp leaders will place any items left at camp in this location.

ABSENCE NOTIFICATIONIf your camper is going to be absent, please call (757)213-0855 or email Mark Ryan at [email protected]. Please include the date he or she will be absent, your child’s name, and the specific camp(s) in which he or she is enrolled.

LATE ARRIVALS AND SPECIAL PICK-UP DURING CAMP HOURSAny camper arriving late to camp must be brought to the main office by a parent, guardian, or family member. Any student leaving during camp hours must be picked up by an authorized person in the main office. Advanced notice of early departures is greatly appreciated. You may inform the Director of Summer Programs in writing/email of early departures.

SUMMER SOUVENIRAll campers will receive a Wolfhound Weeks keepsake for attending a summer program with us!

DISCOUNTCampers registered by March 31st will receive an Early Registration Discount of 5% off of camps. This does not apply to Camp Invention, Soccer Shots or Little Scholars camps.

Summer Tutoring

Looking for a way for your child to stay fresh over summer vacation? Look no further! Wolfhound Weeks is proud to continue hourly one-on-one tutoring services. Be it additional support to strengthen skills, enrichment work to challenge your child’s brain, or one-on-one help with a teacher to work through summer reading assignments, we can accommodate your child’s needs. Our teachers will work with you to develop a schedule that works for your child.

Pup Academies

Our Pup Academies program offers two different options each week for Rising PK4- Rising Kindergarten campers. They are flexible in that parents can choose a half or full-day program. Pup Academies will focus on a different and exciting theme each week and daily activities will reflect the week’s theme. Campers will participate in a variety of activities in the morning, including sports, fine arts, reading, math, crafts, and creative play. In the afternoon, campers will have rest/quiet time, playground play, and additional thematic activities.

Rising PK4 students must turn 4 years old by September 30, 2016. All Pups must be fully toilet trained.Below are the times and fees for each session (unless otherwise noted):

Lead Kathleen Locke – Owner, School of Rock

Little Wing – an innovative music camp designed specifically for preschoolers. Produced by the School of Rock, Little Wing’s activities and games are experiences in the inspiring context of rock music. These little artists will explore rhythm patterns, singing and tonal processing, basic music syntax, auditory focus and the development of great listening skills, and make connections to great music. They will be introduced to the five main rock instruments and will begin a lifelong appreciation for music. Join Little Wing and watch your little one take flight!

Grab your towel and sunscreen, dive in the ocean, and try your hand at art projects featuring everything you love about the summer! Campers will explore the ocean floor and marine life with stories, crafts, songs, and more. We will be painting, molding clay, and coloring; with so many activities planned it will transform the classroom into the oceanfront!

Resourcefulness, creativity, and cooperation combine as we introduce our Pups to LEGOS for the very first time. LEGO Learners will investigate, innovate, exchange ideas, and experiment in a variety of imagination-stretching building challenges. No two days are alike! Every day brings new ideas and new opportunities for budding brick builders to discover their hidden talents as they design and build their own creations.

What’s more fun than making a bunch of “noise” with your feet?! Tap dancers use their tap shoes like drums to make rhythmic beats, and will have the chance to explore what tap dancing is all about! Students will learn classical tap technique as well as have the chance to put their newly learned steps to the beat of funky, contemporary music. Tap dance gives a whole new understanding to rhythm. These skills will be attained through cooperative activities co-led by Old Dominion University students and faculty. Strength, energy and spirit--that’s the recipe for a tumbling good time! Want to learn how to do a cartwheel? Round-off? Combinations? During this week, we will learn about safety in tumbling as well as proper form and technique to roll and tumble across a mat. This is a beginner’s tumbling class – we will focus on the basics of tumbling, build strength and skill-set, and learn how to have fun tumbling in a safe manner.

The instructor will offer tips on getting sitting jobs, how to entertain children safely, and prepare them for their first babysitting job. Get out your tutu and start twirling! Let your child’s inner princess shine as they learn to tippy toe and pirouette their way across the floor to classic fairy tale music from Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and more. Learn ballet basics including barre work and center technique while using props, role playing, and imagination to aid in personal expression and creativity. There will be an emphasis on technique, movement vocabulary, choreography, stretching, and imaginative play! Camp culminates with a special performance by your little princess.

Bump, set, spike! Have you watched our Lady Wolfhounds dominate on the volleyball court and thought that you would like to learn to serve, dig, pass, and jump too? Broadway hits and contemporary music. There will be an emphasis on technique, movement vocabulary, choreography, improvisation, and having fun! This camp is open to both beginner and advanced ballet and jazz dancers. Come learn the basics or build on what you know! Our skilled instructors will work with you at your level. Students will have the chance to perform a routine for parents on the last day of camp!

Are you ready to ROCK?!? Rock 101 camp is geared for all levels of experience (beginners to advanced). Campers will have the opportunity to try their skills and receive instruction on various instruments including drums and percussion, guitar, bass, keyboards, and vocals, and will discover the energy and exciting dynamic of group rehearsal. Campers are encouraged to bring their iPods, favorite CDs, and any instruments and amplifiers they already own; however, many instruments will be available for use during the camp. Don’t miss this wonderful opportunity to discover the rock stars among us! This session will culminate in a live performance for family, friends, and fellow campers.
