Introducing a new way of lifeCPS live Ltd., supported by Environmental Systems Ltd., together with a group of German engineers, architects, urban designers and permaculture specialists spent the last three years developing a master plan for a comprehensive residential housing project on a 1.5km stretch of breath-taking seashore of the west coast of Zanzibar. The project is promoted by ZIPA (Zanzibar Investment Promotion Authority) and enjoys full support of the government of Zanzibar and Tanzania.

This isn’t aimed at the privileged few – it’s for you!Fumba Town is in every aspect the first-of-its-kind gated community in Zanzibar. Located in Fumba, only 5 km from the international airport and less than 20 minutes drive from the commercial centre Stone Town, it’s a 160-acre project that’s designed to become your habitat. The idea is to grow a sustainable, dynamic and active community and to open doors to a higher and more conscious life standard.

The construction team behind Fumba Town is introducing a completely new way of building houses in Africa – the Prefab House System. The houses are built with long lasting, innovative and renewable materials that are completely adapted to Zanzibar’s climate and environmental conditions.

Our efforts are aimed at coexisting harmoniously with our environment and respecting the beauty and abundance of nature. The structure of the houses is a state-of-the-art composition of multi-layered, fast growing plantation wood, fibre-reinforced composite and fibre insulation. All materials are chosen according to German quality standards, complying with the requirements of the local ecosystem and treated for complete safety against parasites.

If you prefer the classic way of building, the same house designs have been translated into conventional concrete manufacture. A partnering construction company has been commissioned to build conventionally according to the highest quality standards.

Bee-beneficial trees are planted throughout the green spaces to support pollination and endemic trees with low water usage are spread around the public parks to preserve the culture of the people: for the Wazee to play Bao in the shade, for the kids to play football under swaying palm trees and for you to indulge in the natural diversity of Zanzibar’s vegetation. Fair share means not to focus on the individual element such as the people, or the environment, or the construction, but rather on the relationships created among those elements by the way they are placed together - for the whole outcome to become greater than the sum of its individual components.
