The students of Class XI got an opportunity to visit EDII on 22nd February. EDII has been a pioneer institute in promoting entrepreneurship for over thirty years through training, research,

education and institution building.

The students were addressed by Dr. Chandan Chatterjee, Senior Visiting Faculty, EDII. He talked extensively regarding the change in the “attitude” that can develop entrepreneurial skills in everyone. He urged the students to take initiative at all levels to develop entrepreneurial attitude

and to know the difference between business and entrepreneurship. He also threw light in making the students know the difference between ‘Make in India’; ‘Made in India’ and ‘Made for India’. He also discussed the concept of Start-ups and how business bothers about the capability of an

entrepreneur rather than who the entrepreneur is. He talked about the three ‘S’- skill, scale and speed that can lead an enterprise towards success. He laid emphasis of seeking ‘Waste as Wealth’ which will not only help in resource management but also lead us towards a better tomorrow.

The MSME (Micro Small and Medium Enterprise) Day is celebrated on 27th June every year by

the Gujarat Government and their aim is to motivate the indigenous start-ups to establish themselves at a national level by providing them with financial, technological and administrative support.

The students were blessed to further interact with Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director, EDII. His enigmatic presence left an indelible mark on the minds of all the students and the faculty present there. On

being questioned as to which course one should pursue to develop innovative thinking and entrepreneurial building, he answered that only a professional course like medical, law or engineering can define the career in those fields. However, to become a competent entrepreneur

one needs no age, time or academic qualification. It is all in the mindset that can determine the success of an entrepreneur.

Dr. Shukla also laid emphasis that

Entrepreneurial Development is not restricted to the stream

of commerce, but any student pursuing any career path can become

nation builders and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.

Overall, the experience

was filled with new

learnings and new

mind sets and provided

a lot of takeaways for

the students of DPSG.

Ahmedabad is powered by numerous dedicated NGO’s who are successfully working for the

betterment of our society to promote women empowerment. These NGO’s are busy developing the
