Fuel efficiencyworks!During a recent fuel efficiency project for

a major container operator, DNV

demonstrated a fuel saving potential of

more than 5%. Largest savings were

identified within main engine

performance and voyage planning and

execution. This identified savings

represented:

� A reduction in HFO consumption of90,000 tons annually

� An improved environmentalperformance of 290,000 tons CO2

annually
