I am sitting in my hotel room and getting ready to head over to Eagle Lake in Ontario for the first time. Hopefully the upcoming week will produce some tro-phies for my partner and myself. Boy, this thing called Muskie fishing can become obsessive. This summer has gone by very quickly. Almost too quick! Welcome to September and the beginning of the fall fishing season. September also starts the beginning of our meetings for the 2018-19 year. At our Sep-
tember meeting we will be welcoming Steve Sarley as our guest speaker. This is the 1st meeting after our summer break. Hope to see lots of familiar and new faces at this meeting. Steve is an excel-lent speaker and host of the weekly podcast called WeFishASA; so this meeting should be a good one. Steve will cover everything from fishing to conservation! Grab a friend and a note pad and come join us for the festivities! Hopefully we will see you there. Our club has some good outings coming up here in the fall. We will be starting the outings with our 4
th annual outing to Popp’s Resort in Crivitz Wiscon-
sin. This is prime time for the big ones. Fish up to 48 inches have been caught at this outing in the past. If you would like to attend, the last time to sign up will be at the September meeting. Our next out-ing will be our 4
th annual “Sucker Madness” outing to Jackson’s Re-
sort in St. Germain, Wisconsin. In previous years fish up to 46 inch-es have been caught at this outing. The last time to sign up for this outing will be at the October meeting. We will be once again staying at Jackson’s Resort in St. Germain! Come on out and join us for a great late fall outing! Lastly a few of us will be going down to Cave Run in Early December. More to come next month on this outing. Please remember that this is your club and we are looking for your suggestions on how to improve the club and its programs. If you have a suggestions on what you would like to see and where we can improve, look me up at the meeting and let’s discuss your ideas. See you at the meeting.

THE FOX RIVER VALLEY CHAPTER PROUDLY PRESENTS
STEVE SARLEY WENDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 12
TH , 2018
AT THE SCHAUMBURG GOLF CLUB Steve was the host of the Outdoors Experience, which aired on Chi-cago’s AM-560 WIND from 2003 to 2013. The Outdoors Experience drew an excellent audience, due to its high quality and because it featured the best possible guests in the world of the outdoors Ste-ve was also the host, from 2002 to 2005, of CLTV’s Great Outdoors, which aired live for 30 minutes every Thursday evening in prime time on the local companion station to national superstation WGN. This was a talk show that featured many famous luminaries from the outdoors world and featured taped outdoors footage. Occa-sionally, a show would be taped from out in the woods or on the water. Steve has been a published outdoor writer in newspapers and magazines continuously since 1998. Currently, his work can be found in a weekly, bylined column for The Northwest Herald and other daily and weekly papers published by Shaw Media. His by-lined column also appears every two weeks in Illinois Outdoor News magazine. He also presents seminars to various groups on a variety of outdoor topics and has been the host and/or emcee for a number of outdoor shows and banquets. Steve has also been a
guest on a number of outdoor radio and television shows. He is a member and past director of the Associ-ation of Great Lakes Outdoor Writers. Currently Steve is the host of the weekly podcast WeFishASA. WeFishASA presents a new episode of our one-hour Podcast every Wednesday for your education and en-joyment. If you love to fish, then WeFishASA has something for you! WeFishASA presents tips and tech-niques to improve your fishing success. WeFishASA willl help you to catch not only more fish, but bigger fish, as well, whether it’s bass, redfish, trout, muskies or salmon and whether it’s from lakes, rivers, streams or salt water. WeFishASA talks about the issues that are most important to our sport – things like conservation, the politics of fishing, the threats that face our sport and fishing advocacy and the preserva-tion of the future of fishing. This is what WeFishASA is all about. Whether you like to fish by wading on a secluded stream, casting from an ocean pier, standing on the bank of your local lake or flipping lures from the deck of a bass boat, WeFishASA is a “must listen” for you every week! Don’t miss this great meeting as our monthly club meetings resume!! Grab a friend and come on out and join us! You’ll be glad you did! Admission is $5.00/person at the door. Our meeting begins at 7:00PM at The
Schaumburg Golf Club which is located at 401 N. Roselle Road in Schaumburg, IL.
All meetings are open to the public. Guests are always welcome.

FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CORNER… FROM THE MEMBERSHIP CORNER… We are back in business starting Wednesday September 12th at 7:00PM at Chandlers in Schaumburg. I
hope some of you folks took advantage of the Club’s Outings and will have fish stories to tell at the up-
coming meeting. Sharing stories and experiences with your fellow members is special. So speak-up!
The Fox Chain this summer was a mixed bag. Heavy rains & high water levels starting in May and con-
tinuing on into June, then very hot temperatures going into July and August made fishing difficult and
unpleasant to say the least. Well, as we go later into the year, temperatures will come down and fishing
conditions should improve locally. We have coming-up in the Fall starting Oct. 5th to 8th a club trip to
Crivitz , Wisconsin and in November our annual Suckerfest in St Germain at Jackson’s Resort for a fun weekend of fishing. OK,
some of you folks have expiring memberships to renew. Now that the monthly meetings are back “no excuses”. The Membership
table will be back in-business and ready to renew your membership. I have your expiration dates and other information. I also have
some nice premiums to give away. So, please come to the September meeting, bring a friend, buy raffle tickets. Tim has a nice se-
lection of prizes to offer and this “could be your lucky time”! Remember attendance is important, it helps sustain the viability of
the chapter. We are family! Thank You for your continued support,
Frank Lucido
