CPS presents National Players: "Of Mice and Men"
Time: 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM
http://cpspotsdam.org/
Event Description: Now celebrating its 62nd anniversary season, National Players brings to life “Of Mice and
Men,” a classic tale by Nobel Prize-winning author John Steinbeck. This tragic and endearing story follows the
mismatched friendship of two displaced migrant ranch workers, George Milton and Lennie Small, in California
during the Great Depression. While George dreams big, Lennie seeks the comfort of little everyday pleasures. As
George’s dreams become reachable, his compassion is tested through Lennie’s mistakes, posing the question - What
makes true friends and what makes true men?

United Concordia News
United Concordia is no longer being granted the contract for dental coverage for our Uniformed Military Service Families. Instead, as of 1 May 2012 the coverage will go to Metlife. I've included a website with all the pertinent information. You can also go and find out which dentists have picked up as a Metlife PPO (Preferred Provider Organization). There are some dentists who are not going to change over and pick up the dental plan due to the insurance PPO dictating as to what they will charge.

ALTMAR, NY - The Tug Hill/Black River Chapter of Trout
Unlimited in cooperation with the NYS Department of
Environmental Conservation will sponsor a two-day fly-fishing
seminar for women June 2 and 3 on the Salmon River in Altmar.
“This seminar is geared exclusively for women looking to
improve their fly-fishing skills,” said instructor Lindsay Agness.
“It will cover instruction from beginner to advanced stages of
fly-fishing, fly-fishing tips and tactics, and hands-on instruction
pertaining to Lake Ontario tributary-style fishing, which can also
be applied to many other streams, creeks and rivers.”
“There will be highly skilled and experienced female and male instructors on hand to provide guidance so everyone
has ample opportunities to learn,” said Agness. “The course will encompass indoor and outdoor classroom settings
as well as actual fishing in the Salmon River for trout and other freshwater species.”
Classes will be at 8 a.m. Saturday, June 2, at the NYS DEC Salmon River Fish Hatchery in Altmar, and at 8 a.m.
Sunday, June 3. Breakfast and lunch are provided. The deadline to register is May 19. Registration is $25 per day or
$40 for both days. Participants must be age 18 or older and must have a current New York State fishing license.
Class size is limited to 20 students. The seminars will be held rain or shine. Participants should dress for the
weather and bring bug repellant and sun block as needed. Waders or hip boots are recommended, as the water
temperature might still be chilly in mid-June. Equipment will be available at the seminar, but those who have a
good, working fly rod set-up should bring it.
Pre-registrations can be e-mailed to: [email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>
with “2012 Women’s Fly Seminar c/o Lindsay Agness TU” in the subject line. Checks should be made payable to
“The Tug Hill/Black River Chapter of TU” and mailed to Lindsay Agness – T.U. Seminars, 60 Monroe Street,
Honeoye Falls NY 14472. Those with questions may e-mail Lindsay Agness at the above address.
Therefore, the Carthage Central School District Board of Education
passed a resolution on February 27 that the instructional calendar will
be modified so that students and instructional staff will not be in
attendance on the following dates:
March 23, 2012
March 30, 2012
April 9, 2012
May 7, 2012
May 24, 2012
However, if additional days must be used for emergency closings, the
first day will be taken on March 23, then March 30, April 9, May 7, and
May 24. In the event of long term emergency closings, the Board of
Education reserves which makeup days will be used from any scheduled
recess periods and/or holidays, consistent with any language that may
exist in district labor agreements.
