Isaiah B Brunt (BAND) NSWBlues artist and multi instrumentalist Isaiah B Brunt is a former studio owner and has worked with both national and international acts throughout his career including Rob Hirst, Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, Julio Iglesias and his Orchestra, American Idols Randy Jackson as well as international bands Goo Goo Dolls and Keanu Reeves band Dog Star. This year he will bring his New Orleans flavoured sound to the Wonderland Spiegeltent for the 2016 Docklands Blues Festival. Isaiah’s seven piece band, featuring a brass section, will be performing songs from his recently released and New Orleans-recorded album.

John McNamara (SOLO) VIC Taking cues from soul greats such as Otis Redding, Sam Cooke and Bobby Bland, John delivers an emotionally charged performance, with fiery Blues and Slick Guitar Playing. John has worked as a Guitarist for local

and international acts and appeared on programs such as Chanel 10’s ‘The Morning Show’, Rage and MTV. He has opened for acts such as Joanne Shaw Taylor, Jon Stevens, Rick Price, Diesel, Shannon Knoll, and toured with Mr. Big vocalist, Eric Martin. John has become a regular on the Australian Blues scene, playing festivals and shows all over the country showcasing his unique talents. John was the 2013 winner of the MBAS Blues Performer of the Year (Solo/Duo) representing at the 2014 Memphis International Blues Challenge.

Key Grip (BAND) ACTKey Grip lives and breathes by the motto, “It’s Gotta Swing”. Band leader Leo Joseph has been using the name Key Grip for his bands since 1992. He set up the Canberra version when he returned from the US back in 2005 after 12 years living overseas. Key Grip’s performance explores the many shades of blues to give the audience up-tempo and slower tunes, tunes with tasty interesting progressions and great lyrics. When all the ingredients are cooking and it’s working like a well-oiled machine – it’s to die for, and people will be up on the dance floor!

Lazy Eye (BAND) SASoul drenched blues. Think B.B. King sharing a scotch with Booker T at the crossroads after midnight. Enamouring crowds across the country since 2013, their debut album ‘Move Me’ was awarded “Album Of The Year” at the

South Australian Blues & Roots Awards. Lazy Eye won the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association’s inaugural Memphis Blues Challenge (Band) competition in 2015 and was sent to represent Australia in the 2016 International Blues Challenge in Memphis USA. The talented Adelaide based band have many more miles planned for their well traveled van.

Mick Kid & Dave Blight (DUO) SAMick and David have teamed up on a semi regular basis and appeared at the last four Semaphore Music Festivals in South Australia. Mick Kid & Dave Blight won the Adelaide Roots & Blues Association’s

inaugural Memphis Blues Challenge (Solo/Duo) competition in 2015 and were sent to represent Australia in the 2016 International Blues Challenge in Memphis USA. This was following up on their success at the 2014 South Australia Blues Awards winning the ‘Outstanding Solo/Duo’ plus Mick with ‘ Male Performer’. Together Mick and David produce authentic blues with a dynamic sound that almost belies the fact that there are only the two of them on the stage, such is the power of their delivery.

Sugar Bowl Hokum (BAND) NSWDriven by their love of obscure songs from the 1920’s and 30’s, Sugar Bowl Hokum scour the crackly grooves of old 78’s to find the best forgotten blues gems of the era. The music of some very feisty almost forgotten trail blazers makes up a large part of their repertoire. Incorporating the many sounds of blues into their repertoire from the classic blues of Bessie Smith, the R&B of Ruth Brown, the Ragtime of Blind Blake and Blind Boy Fuller, the gritty songwriting of Memphis Minnie with Swing, Country Blues and Early Jazz all included in the mix.

Mark Green (BAND) CANADAThe Docklands Blues Music Festival is thrilled to have Canadian blues lead/rhythm guitarist and vocalist Mark Green headlining in 2016. This talented showman has performed since high school, and as an established blues act, has toured widely throughout Atlantic Canada as a solo artist and with The Mark Green Band. With a commanding, unique blues voice and masterful guitarwork, Mark has also toured with Canadian Blues Legends Dutch Mason and Rick Jefferies, and many notable Halifax guitar players such as Carter Chaplin, Brad Conrad and Garret Mason. This rocking bluesman and true entertainer will be joined on stage by local Melbourne blues musicians making this a performance you won’t want to miss.

Sweet Felicia & the Tradies (BAND) VIC Sweet Felicia has spent over 30 years in the industry and has played with the best of them including Phil Manning, Jeff Lang and Lil’ Fi. Sweet Felicia has spent the last eight years as

the main bassist in The Chris Wilson Band. Her sound is paramount to the fact that music must be played from the heart to be enjoyed. Taking on the difficult job of singing and playing bass and leading and managing her own band for the last ten years, she knows how to win over any audience in the world. Sweet Felicia was the 2013 winner of the MBAS Blues Performer of the Year (Band) representing at the 2014 Memphis International Blues Challenge.

The EBC Allstars (BAND) VIC & Special Guest Toni Swain NSWThe EBC (Elwood Blues Club) Allstars is a crack Melbourne blues outfit who have been playing and supporting a who’s-who of the Australian blues and roots scene for over 18 years. They provide the punch and style for the EBC every Sunday night at the Prince of Wales on St Kilda’s Fitzroy Street. The band features Adrian Reeves (keys), Tony Martin (drums), Mark Gove (guitar), Peter Beulke (bass) with Roger Nelson and ‘Salty’ Dennis Trevarthen (harp). This is one mean, road-tested mess of blues behind some of the best vocalists around. This year at Docklands Blues Music Festival, the EBC will be joined on stage by fabulous blues vocalist Toni Swain and the masterful Roy Payne on guitar.

MBAS Youth In Blues (BAND) VICThe Youth in Blues is an initiative of the MBAS (Melbourne Blues Appreciation Society), held annually to encourage the next generation of Blues musicians. The Youth in Blues Program aims to help young blues musicians and
