At our in-house real time digital simulators Lab, GE Multilin engineers create highly accurate computer models of your power system and its components (based on EMTP) in order to perform real-time closed loop testing. System behavior can be simulated and analyzed under a variety of fault conditions.

Literally thousands of fault scenarios can be run on your system model using automated test scripts. Our engineers analyze the results and manually step you through any abnormal or unexpected system operations. We then assist with recommendations on alternate protection schemes, equipment selection, and optimizing relay settings and control logic. Real time digital simulators test results and our recommendations for system improvement, are provided in a detailed report along with the relay event records and oscillography files.

GE Multilin can help you understand how your power system and its protection and control devices will respond to failure situations. Gain the assurance and peace of mind of knowing that your protection and control functions will operate as required when you need them most.

INTRODUCTION TO IEC 61850 PROTOCOL

IEC 61850 is the new emerging standard that is now being applied to many new substation designs to allow interoperability between manufacturers of substation devices. This course will provide a systematic introduction to the major sections of this standard and then focus in detail on the portions of IEC 61850 that are of particular interest to protective relaying and substation integration.

Protection and Electrical Engineers responsible for substation design, relay configuration, system communications or substation control applications will benefit from this course. System Integrators responsible for configuring SCADA or HMI Monitoring and Control systems using the IEC 61850 protocol will also benefit from this course.

An understanding of power systems, protection applications and the Universal Relay an asset.

This course is designed to provide students with hands-on experience using and integrating the entire EnerVistaTM Suite of products. In this course, students will gain expertise in using the all of the available EnerVistaTM products including Launchpad, Viewpoint Monitoring, Viewpoint Maintenance, Viewpoint Engineer, and EnerVistaTM Integrator. Class Labs will give students a chance to set up and configure different types of communications network architectures for communicating to GE Multilin Relays and Meters. Through this network, proceed to learn how to used the different software packages while communicating directly with these devices.

Individuals in charge of Programming, Commissioning and Maintaining relays and meters as well as those responsible for integrating relays and meters into HMI or Energy Management Systems will benefit from this course.

GENERATOR PROTECTION INTERACTIVE LEARNING CD

The SR489 Generator Protection Interactive Learning CD uses simulations, examples and practical applications to provide students with the same information and practical experience they would receive if they attended the in-class course. This CD allows Engineers, Electrical Personnel and Maintenance Staff to learn at their own pace and review the course material as often as they desire.

This Interactive Learning CD provides students with an understanding of the theoretical concepts they will require in the areas of Primary and Backup Generator Protection. The CD will then step the students through the installation of a SR489 relay including wiring, configuring the relay using the EnerVistaTM SR489 Setup Software and demonstrating any procedures needed for performing maintenance tasks.

INTERACTIVE LEARNING CD

The GE Multilin Product Maintenance CD is a powerful resource tool for today’s industrial and utility maintenance personnel. Designed specifically for the maintenance and troubleshooting of GE Multilin relays, this CD provides a multi-functional training tool which can be used as a complete instructional course, or as a reference when specific maintenance or troubleshooting tasks are required. Using a simple menu structure, students can select to view an entire maintenance subject, or review only the information required to perform a single task.

This Interactive Learning CD will outline the recommended troubleshooting and maintenance procedures required for GE Multilin relays, using a combination of instructional videos and step-by-step examples. From downloading fault analysis information after a system fault has occurred to troubleshooting a motor start inhibit command, this CD provides clear instruction tailored to maintenance personnel.
