During the hike of 8.9km, you will discover the vineyard of Fronsac and Canon Fronsac with its beautiful landscape between vines and river.

1 Go up the road to the knoll and follow the pathway along the Château Richelieu’s winery..2 At the green and yellow signpost, turn right among the vines. You can see the Château Lague which dominate the landscape.3 Walk along the hedgerows of trees on your left, cross the limestone path that lead to Chateau Sauvage then continue straight ahead among the vines.4 At the crossing, continue straight ahead on the road, pass ahead of the house “Brem” and Château Gagnard.5 At the crossing, turn right.6 At the crossing, turn left, pass ahead of “Toumalin”7 Take the next right, pass ahead of “Roullet” and “Gandineau”.8 Turn right, pass ahead of Château Coustolle.9 Turn left straight away on the grassy pathway.10 Down to the château, turn right after the hedge11 At the green and yellow signpost, turn left among the vines. There is a pond on your left. Pursue straight away towards the abandoned house.12 After the Château Franc Capet, turn left on the tarred road. The road becomes a dirt path that hug vines until Château La Valade.13 At the crossing, turn left. (When turning right towards the water tower, you can continue by “St Aignan: between combes and valleys”. See page 33 - point 14.)

Au cours de cette balade de 8.9km, découvrez le vignoble des appellations Fronsac et Canon Fronsac, ses jolis paysages entre vignes et rivière.

1 Prenez la route qui monte vers le tertre, et poursuivre sur le chemin qui longe le chai du château richelieu.2 A la balise verte et jaune, tournez à droite dans les vignes. Vous voyez le château lague qui domine le paysage sur votre gauche.3 Longez la haie d’arbres par la gauche, traversez le chemin calcaire qui mène au Château Sauvage puis poursuivez tout droit dans les vignes.4 A l’intersection, continuez tout droit sur la route, passez la maison « Brem » et le Château Gagnard.5 A l’intersection, tournez à droite.6 A l’intersection, tournez à gauche, passez « Toumalin ».7 Prenez la prochaine à droite, passez « Roullet » et « Gandineau ».8 Tournez à droite, passez devant le château coustolle.9 Tournez de suite à gauche le chemin enherbé.10 En bas du château, tournez à droite après la haie d’arbre.11 A la balise jaune et verte, tournez à gauche au milieu des vignes. Vous avez un étang sur votre gauche. Poursuivez tout droit vers la maison abandonnée.12 Après le Château Franc Capet, tournez à gauche sur la route goudronnée. La route se termine en chemin de terre qui longe les vignes jusqu’au château la Valade. Continuez tout droit sur la route gourdonnée.13 A l’intersection tournez à gauche. (En prenant à droite vers le château d’eau, vous avez la possibilité de poursuivre sur la boucle de St Aignan. Voir page 33 - point 14..)

14 Cross the departmental road and continue by the dirt path in the vines.15 At the signpost, go towards “BL de Fronsac”. Pass ahead of Château Haut Mazeris.16 At the crossing, take left and cross the road toward “Chateau Mazeris”, then follow the limestone path.17 Turn left straight away on the grassy path on the vines. Go up on the path through the trees.18 Cross the road (On the left, you can see Château Gaby, fronsac’s knoll and the river Dordogne. (Few dozen meters farther on the left, towards Château Pey Labrie overlooking is

even nicer). Go down the path which leads to vines.19 At the tarred road, turn left and pass ahead of Chateau Barrabaque.20 At the crossing, take right on the edge of the plot of vines.21 Just before the oak tree, cross the departmental road (beware of traffic) and continue beside the vines.22 At the end of the plot, turn left.23 Turn on the tarred road.Go up the first left at “Lague” that become a dirt path.Continue on the tarred path that brings you back to Maison des Vins.

14 Traversez la route départementale et continuez par le chemin dans les vignes.15 A la balise, suivre la direction « BL de Fronsac ». Passez devant le Château Haut Mazeris.16 A l’intersection, prenez à gauche et traversez la route en direction de «Château Mazeris», puis suivre le chemin calcaire. 17 Tournez de suite à gauche le chemin dans les vignes. Continuez par le sentier qui monte au milieu des arbres du Château Pey Labrie. Longez les bâtiments agricoles du Château Mausse.18 Traversez la route, sur votre gauche, le château Gaby, le tertre de Fronsac et la Dordogne. (La vue est encore plus dégagée en faisant quelques dizaines de mètre vers la gauche au château Pey labrie.) Descendez tout droit le sentier qui débouche au milieu des vignes.19 A la route goudronnée, tournez à gauche et passez devant le château barrabaque.20 A l’intersection, prenez à droite en bordure de la parcelle de vigne.21 Juste avant le chêne, traversez la départementale (attention à la circulation) et continuez le long des vignes.22 A la fin de la parcelle, tournez à gauche.23 Tournez sur la route goudronnée.Montez la première route à gauche à “Lague” qui devient un chemin de terre.Continuez sur le chemin goudronné qui vous ramène à la Maison des Vins.
