In reflecting on how far we have come, I am grateful to our patrons because our existence and growth is possible all because of you. The Marco Players live solely on ticket sales and donations from our loyal patrons. In the last three years, the cost of operating has risen steadily, and we sometimes struggle; this brings us to the realization that we can no longer depend only on ticket sales. To explain, the costs for publishing house royalties, our ticket agent fees, staffing, insurance, rent, and associated maintenance expenses have all gone up. For example, the royalties for Neil Simon plays are double of what they were three years ago. We realize every dollar is important to you, so we always keep the balance between value and delivering a quality theater experience in mind when making decisions about increases. We want to continue offering you quality community theater, so fundraising will become a more prominent part of our outreach and events. Our Caricature Wall has been a great success and there is still room for your smiling faces! This season, we will engage with “Giving Tuesday,” and “Amazon Smile,” two fundraising initiatives for non-profit organizations as well as some new initiatives designed to “Help Us Grow.” Thank you for your continued loyalty and generosity. The board, staff, and volunteers of The Marco Players want you to know how much we all appreciate your generous financial support. We are thrilled to bring you the 2018-2019 season because “It’s Time to Laugh!” Beverly Dahlstrom President & Artistic Director Help Your Community Theater Thrive!
