Dear TLS Community,

The Joy of a New Beginning

The holidays are here again. The grapes are in and schools are ready to take a break; a chance for teachers and weary students to be refreshed and renewed ready for the next term.

This year the holiday is preceded by Easter and following Easter our local community will celebrate another successful grape harvest; a festival of thanks at the end of a long hot summer, bringing with it the anticipation of new beginnings – new wine and a new season. Even autumn brings a freshness with it - brisk mornings and sunny afternoons. Two thousand years ago, in the Middle East, another event occurred that was so significant, that the world still celebrates today. This Easter Christians everywhere will give thanks for the amazing new beginning and hope for the future that the resurrection promises us.

What’s so important about Easter? It’s important because it proved that Jesus was who he claimed to be. He was God in the flesh, and He came to earth to save us. The Bible says that Jesus became sin for us so that we could be forgiven and found righteous in God’s sight (2 Corinthians 5:21).

Easter is the good news about God's Son, Jesus Christ. It is a time for new beginnings for each of us personally.

Wishing you and your family a safe and blessed Easter. Debbie Blenkiron Director of Learning Year4/5 teacher

From the Management Team... Dates to remember

Easter Joy Jesus came to earth, To show us how to live, How to put others first, How to love and how to give. He could have saved Himself, Calling angels from above, But He chose to pay our price for sin; He paid it out of love. Our Lord died on Good Friday, But the cross did not destroy His resurrection on Easter morn That fills our hearts with joy. Now we know our earthly death, Like His, is just a rest. As a community we know God’s power through prayer, so please keep the school, its staff, students and families in

your prayers. If you have prayer requests, please let Darren, Matthew or the office staff know.

A NOTICE FROM FINANCE Just a reminder to any of our parents who have not yet paid the term one school fees, to please make sure these fees are paid before term two begins. If you have already paid term one fees or are one of our many families who have contacted the office to arrange weekly, fortnightly or monthly fee payments, thank you. We are grateful for the continued support from our families with fee payments which are of course a great contributor in providing a wonderful learning environment and stable education for our students. If you are experiencing difficulties in paying your school fees at this time, please don't hesitate to contact Fiona Evans, our School Business Manager, to arrange for extended payment terms or make alternative payment arrange-ments. We are always happy to help our families where ever we can. We thank all our families for your support and wish you all a Happy Easter together and a wonderful and safe term break. It’s time to start knitting again. Many thanks to everyone who helped with knitting last year. The extended

TLS community provided over 15 hand made blankets to Lutheran

Community Care. There is need for blankets again this year. If you are able to help us by knitting squares 15cm square, it would be greatly

appreciated. Please hand completed squares into the office.

Thank you in anticipation. Debbie Borgas
