Father Maher Council #648, Jacksonville, Florida 1902 - 2016 VOLUME NO. 5 ISSUE 8 August, 2016 WWW.KOFC648.COM FROM THE GRAND KNIGHT - John Bowsman: Grand Knight’s Letter August, 2016 Dear Brother Knights: The Father Maher Council #648 has started off the new year with many Brothers volunteering for the coming year. The Council “Flap-Jacks” (Pancake team) also had a great start serving up the pancake breakfast at St. Matthews which was a success even though many families are on vacation or traveling. We will continue to establish the fourth (4th) Sunday Family Pancake Breakfast after the 8:30 and 10:30 Masses. Oather Hice and his “Flap-Jack team will be starting the St. Pius Pancake Breakfast the third (3rd) Sunday of each month after mass. Since Oather needs some additional help with his team, who is going to volunteer to make this a huge success? We will also need the Brother Knights from St. Pius to pick up the equipment and signs at St. Matthews and then get them back to St. Matthews for the next Sunday breakfast. Tom Measday has volunteered to arrange and plan the Awards Night and Officers Installation Dinner, save August 27, 2016, 6:00 PM, for you and your wife to attend. Tom will be putting together this event that will be a great night for the Brothers and their wives. Also Tom has agreed to be the head honcho for our annual Casino Night at St. Matthews. November 19, 2016, is the night to put on the calendar. Tom is already planning and needs the help of all the Brothers to make this a success as always. Remember this is our fund raiser for all the food baskets we hand out each Christmas, so call Tom at 904-200-5001 and give him your support. It is with much regret to inform you that Brother James J. Carryl passed away this past week. He was a Brother Knight for 53 years. He was one of the original founders of the Most Holy Redeemer Church. Dear Brother Knights
The Father Maher Council 648 has started off the new year with many Brothers volunteering for the
