From The Chair! By Kisha McLain
Well ASQ Charlotte 2016 is almost over! This has been another phenomenal year. Our section has hosted three tours, four monthly meetings on various topics, three Executive Quality Round Tables and one Quality Conference. These events were successful for two reasons: great planning by leadership team members and most importantly support by our section members. Our vision for the Charlotte Section has always been to engage people, organizations, and the local community in Continuous Improvement. We appreciate your support throughout 2016. What’s the plan for 2017! The Charlotte Section will continue to offer monthly programs starting in February 2017 that are relevant to our members. We also plan to promote certifications by sponsoring two section members who successfully complete their certification exams in 2017. The capstone event for next year is the ASQ World Conference on Quality and Improvement, May 1-3, 2017 at the Charlotte Convention Center. We have two new forums that will kick-off in 2017: Risk Management Consortium and Young Quality Professionals. Once again thank you for supporting the ASQ Charlotte Section. The Charlotte Leadership Team wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season!

December 2016 ASQ Member Gift: YEAR-END RECAP
Last year ASQ did a year-end recap in December, and it was so popular that they have done it again this year. Why? Because they shared so many exclusive resources we know many missed, in their flurry of emails and busy inboxes. So make sure to save this one, and consider this ASQ’s way of saying thanks for your ongoing commitment to quality.

Certification Exams are no longer offered by any ASQ Sections. ASQ has now transitioned to computer-based test (CBT) delivery for its certification exams. Benefits of CBT include an increased number of test site locations, administrations, and availability of days on which to take exams. Translated exams are expected to be available starting in March 2017. While the exam experience has changed to CBT, the check-in process at testing locations is similar to the previous pencil and paper exams. Examinees will be required to show identification and will be allowed to bring reference books and certain calculators into the exam. For additional questions, please contact our Certification Chair, Richard Jacob [email protected]
