We the undersigned-
Respectfully ask the owners of Turtle Bay Resorts, Drew Stotesbury (Replay Resorts/Turtle Bay Resort, LLC) and Lee Sichter (Lee Sichter, LLC) to:
• Remove any plans calling for massive expansion sprawling the entire coastline from Kawela Bay to Kahuku point from their Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS).
• Seriously consider the preservation plan put forward by the Governor's Turtle Bay Advisory Working Group (TBAWG) and work in good faith with the community to adopt this plan.
• Consider the cumulative effects of all development being proposed in the North Shore/Ko'olauloa region in their SEIS.
• Cease using the Ahupua'a concept in a way that is offensive to Native Hawaiian culture.
Respectfully ask City and County of Honolulu Department of Permitting and Planning to:
• Reject the Draft SEIS recently submitted by Turtle Bay Resort.
• Postpone any acceptance of the Turtle Bay SEIS until a comprehensive regional traffic study for the North Shore/Ko'olauloa region can be conducted.
• Cease granting permits to a developer that is currently being challenged to show cause before the State Land Use Commission.
• Utilize their discretionary authority to carefully review this SEIS document and not grant approval until all community questions and concerns have been adequately addressed.
Respectfully ask the Honolulu City Council and Mayor Kirk Caldwell to:
• Nullify the outdated Unilateral Agreement entered into with developers at Turtle Bay 25 years ago.
Respectfully ask the State of Hawaii Land Use Commission to:
• Hold its next hearing in the Ko'olauloa/North Shore region of O'ahu.
• Order developer Turtle Bay Resort, LLC to show cause as to why 236 acres of land upzoned from to urban in 1986 show not revert back to its original agricultural classification due to inaction by previous owners for not meeting zoning conditions within the allotted time frame.
• Return the 236 acres of Turtle Bay Resort property classified to Urban District in 1986 to its original Agricultural classification.
Respectfully ask Governor Neil Abercrombie to:
• Reconvene the Turtle Bay Advisory Working Group to enable the State of Hawaii, in collaboration with private, public and nonprofit partners, to implement an innovative approach to protecting the makai and mauka lands — from Kahuku Point to Kawela Bay.
enough is enough, find stop being greedy -the country of Hawaii is beautiful, don't take it away -trust me everyone feels this way - stop hurting the people

I am from Hawaii Island and Oahu north shore (Wailua). The Kawela Bay area of my childhood will be gone if this plan is approved. What happened to our Island? Why are you elected officials not working for us instead of developers? The infrastructure on the north shore cannot support the current population. Ask anyone who lives there about traffic, road conditions, schools, police/fire,hospitals, clinics, shelters. What will happen when you add a whole bunch more people and cars.Islands are necessarily finite, just incase none of you noticed.
Sincerely,
Laura Gray [email protected]

Aloha, I respectfully ask you to consider the above. I ride my bicycle through the property once a week and it is so peaceful and serene, absolutely breathtaking. If you overbuild on the property, you are shooting yourself in the foot as the land and it's rawness is why residents and tourists flock out to the North Shore. Please work for the good of us all and protect the No. Shore and Windward side from overdevelopment. Sincerely, Mary Jo Buell

I would like to respectfully ask or say 'NO' to this future plan of expansion regarding Turtle Bay Resort. Please keep the countryside of O'ahu that remains. The island is already a floating city as it is...so kindly leave what's left alone. Mahalo nui loa for your consideration.

The Turtle Bay resort expansion is not in keeping with the existing rural area, especially high rise condos or time shares. The majority of the people of Oahu want to enjoy the country as it is, and save the natural beauty for future generations. That is why the traffic is already so bad. Where are the plans to improve roads and alleviate traffic congestion?
Sincerely,
laurence farrant [email protected]

My name is Deborah Grube a returning visitor of Oahu from Oklahoma. We stay on North Shore for a reason. It is less developed, more lay backed, less crowded, not commercialized by developers and removed from the hustle and bustle of the big city Honolulu. Why change this?

Deborah Grube [email protected]

we (the world) don't need more resorts. people who want to make money want to build there because it's beautiful... beauty that will be lost when you build a resort and over populate the area.

This extremely short sighted plan does not support a sustainable future for Oahu. This is not Waikiki and the "product" of the North Shore of Oahu is not glitzy hotels it is a unique ecosystem which needs to be preserved and a land of spiritual relevance which must be protected.
Sincerely,
Jackie Dudock [email protected]

This extremely short sighted plan does not support a sustainable future for Oahu. This is not Waikiki and the "product" of the North Shore of Oahu is not glitzy hotels it is a unique ecosystem which needs to be preserved and a land of spiritual relevance which must be protected.

As a life long windward oahu resident i have seen the explosion of growth of the windward coast in the last 50 years. this growth has a very detrimental effect on our environment. the basic infrastructure ( water, sewer, roads) are stretched to breaking and cannot support the turtle bay resort expansion plans.
Sincerely,
gregory pang [email protected]

Please limit the development of Turtle Bay, Kahuku, and other sacred North Shore lands and respectfully work with the community and city to consider any new proposals. The effects of development are felt island wide from Waimanalo to Makakilo to Makaha, as we all love to travel the pristine North Shore coastlines, and like to do so without encountering bumper to bumper traffic. The Island of Oahu is being stressed with overpopulation and any further development for monetary sake will condemn us all. Mahalo for your time
Sincerely,
Andrew Harding [email protected]
