Here is an article from Medical Physics comparing many of the brands of I-125 seeds for permanent prostate seed brachytherapy. It was recently redistributed by AAPM. It may be helpful in determining which brand of seeds to go with at your facility. Note that currently, NNMC Bethesda and NMC Portsmouth are permitted to do permanent implant brachytherapy, but have not done a case in several years; and NMC San Diego is not currently permitted for permanent implants. Restarting the program at NNMC and NMCP may very well require a permit amendment, as there has recently been significant changes and improvements in prostate seeds, equipment, and technology. Note also that this modality of radiation therapy will require physics commissioning of radiotherapy treatment planning (RTP) software. Forwarded FYI.
