In reviewing our files, we note that our office had requested well construction information back at the time the well was registered in 1991 on TMK 3-9-002:014. Because this very old hand-dug well was constructed in 1902, we have very little information about it. Water use had been reported beginning in 2003 by the previous owner, but the last report submitted to us was in January 2005, so it seems to have been a functioning well at least up until that time.

To update our records and to give proper legal recognition to your well, please:

1) Provide us with photos and an as-built drawing of the current well condition. 2) If you are presently using this well please resume your monthly water use reporting. 3) If this well has been transferred to a new landowner, please inform us of this event.

I know I've asked this a few times in the past, and I know we are busy, but there is alot of low hanging loose ends that need to be tied up if you simply look at the WCPIP portion of the bulletin. We are fortunate no public figure or CWRMer is asking us about this. This doesn't even include the various potential ATFs

This letter is to confirm that State Well No. 4427-03, formerly named Henry Miranda, Jr., is now named MEDO. The land on which the well resides was purchased by MEDO, LLC in April 2003.

Enclosed you will find Monthly Ground Water Use Reports from the inception of MEDO's ownership in April 2003 - September 2004. The well has only recently been put back into use.

Chloride level was established by testing one on single date, 611 0/02, and has been assumed thereafter. Water depth varies with tidal flow and time of day. Average depth measures 12' below grade before pumping. Well depth is 19' below grade. Water depth tends to drop 18 - 24" upon pumping and then stabilizes at that level indefinitely during pumpmg.

I got a call from a person who will be reporting water use for this old dug well. Medo, LLC (not in our People Database) bought the property in April '03 and started using the well in April '04. They will be reporting pumpage and chlorides, and will include a cover letter outlining the land transfer and other pertinent information.

Thank you for your letter of June 9, inquiring as to the status of the dug well in the Liloa Village 65 lot subdivision in Kihei, Hawaii. The well in question was reportedly hand dug in approximately 1902, by Henry Miranda, Senior. The well is registered with the Commission on Water Resource Management as well number 4427-03. This is currently a slightly brackish well yielding output with chloride levels approximating 500 parts per million. It is has been in intermittent use since 1902, and Well Use Reports have been routinely filed since that inception date. Charley Ice is aware of this well and has the file within his possession.

Since filing of the SMA application, the applicant appears to be aiming toward the use of County reclaimed water for all of its irrigation needs and potable water for its household needs. At this point, absent a dramatic shift in circumstances, the well will be taken out of action following the construction process.
