Fringe Arts Bath is Bath’s only annual visual arts festival with a 17 day program of contemporary art exhibitions and events running in conjunction with Bath’s Fringe Festival.Now in it’s sixth year, FaB returns this May to celebrate visual arts in the southwest and beyond. This year is to be our biggest outing yet with more than 30 exhibitions and events showcasing over 130 artists.FaB 2013 is set across six central Bath venues all in easy walking distance. Our HQ FaB1 returns to Stall Street, we are new to York Street, Walcot Chapel houses us again with ‘Blood Lines’, and we are exhibiting in Little Southgate for the first time. Project ObscurityThe Will’s Monument will be draped in fabric from dawn to dusk before being returned to its original state. The installation plays on the the use of a collective memory and

Artist Film and Q&AFairfield House is a sound portrait with drawings, depicting a place where many different groups meet. It is a day centre for Bath Ethnic Minority Senior Citizens (BEMSCA) and the Town’s Women’s Guild. The house itself is where Haile Selassie lived during his exile from Ethiopia so it also holds great significance for both Rastafarians and Ethiopians. The sound portrait / film follows a day at the house combined with events in the lives of the immigrant community.
