OCTOBER
2017
What a month this has been! Our Center was closed for several
days because of lack of air conditioning and Hurricane Irma.
Like every other State Park, Wickham Park was closed (and some
areas still are) as a precaution for health and safety reasons. In total we were closed for 15 days.
Fortunately we are back to normal and everyone is safe. Now it
is “catch up” time.
Just a reminder we are still looking for volunteers. Bingo Floor
Walkers are needed, Set Up and Take Down Crew Members,
Welcome Desk Volunteers, and the Computer Tech Team is looking for volunteers with Windows 10 experience.
God Bless Everyone, Barry
From Where I Sit
Volunteer of the Month: Vinnie Germann Volunteer
I was born Brooklyn, NY. After college I served in the US Army
during the Korean Conflict. I now have 4 Children, 9 Grand Children,
and 4 Great Grandchildren. After working and raising my family in
NY, I retired from a major health care company as a Senior Systems
Analyst. After retiring I started a business, which is still run by my
children today. In 1999 my wife an I moved to Melbourne. I have
been involved with Wickham Park Senior Center for the past 5 years.
During my time at the Center I have been elected to the Executive
Board as Second Vice President. Since my wife’s passing in 2011, I
spend my time volunteering in various positions with the Senior
Center and Baymeadows HOA. In my spare time, I enjoy playing
horseshoes and hanging out in the Senior Center poolroom.

Meets on Wednesdays at 8:30am and

This class provides a low impact exercise experience that definitely discourages the "no pain--no gain" attitude.
Come join us for sharing good, healthy ener-chi! Love and Peace, Laura
