Greetings Elsie Quirk Patrons and Friends, and Happy Leap Year! February

may be a short month, but here at Elsie Quirk it is filled with activity, festivity,

and reflectivity. To start the month off flavorfully, we have a great slate of

Lemon Bay festival programs. Peruse our calendar of events to see what tempts

your fancy; and check out our Lemony display in the new book section of the

    library.

In February we are also ambitiously soliciting patron and community feedback.

We invite one and all to tell us how we’re doing, what changes or developments

you’d like to see, how we can help, and what you most want your local library to

be, do, and offer. You will find comment cards throughout the library, and while

some comment card stations do include sweet enticements, we want your honest

and unvarnished feedback. Your input will help us to make sure Elsie Quirk is

serving the community in the widest, most useful, and most enriching manner

    possible.

Finally, February is a celebration of Black History Month, which is by definition

a celebration and recognition of the complexity, disparity, richness, conflict,

courage, ingenuity, fierce determination, and audacious resilience that defines

America. Check out our display of books and other materials exploring American

stories and perspectives that too often go unheard, unseen, or inadequately

    revered.

We look forward to seeing you at Elsie Quirk!
