! BSR is financed through fees for streat cleaning and waste collection. It is strictly forbidden to draw profits.

Projects and prototypes


Enterprises that want to become very innovative, must provide budgets for experiments with unknown results.


Project example: Holzmarkt quarter (I)How is it possible to convince 1 million visitors per yearto avoid waste and to minimize littering?

That`s the challenge for the Holzmarkt quarter with a planned mixture of arts, culture, public park and student living.


In the future different kind ofprototypes will be testedin field experiments.

The BSR, the University Potsdam and the Holzmarkt have initiated together the34QM Designlab. In this lab design students develop on site innovative solutions.

In cooperation with the Kunsthochschule Berlin Weißensee a solution for accessiblewaste collection was created.

The solution – called Arc32 – provides more convenience for all groups of users - andit is also wheelchair accessible. For our garbage collectors it`s only a bit more effort.
