Become a sponsor for the 9th Annual 2019 “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament. With 55 boats, 227 anglers and $125,000 raised in 2019 to support conservation efforts at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge, this ninth year promises to be the best yet!

Your sponsorship will help ensure conservation and wildlife protection at the Refuge. The only way funds are raised for this tournament are through sponsorships and donations. 100% of the entry fees are returned to the tournament participants in prize awards.

The captain’s and angler’s meeting will be May 13. All sponsors and participants are invited to enjoy food and drinks along with a silent auction. Friday, May 14th, is tournament day, followed by a “Silver King for Ding” Awards Banquet for anglers and sponsors.

The J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge is the location of the first recorded tarpon caught on rod and reel and celebrates Southwest Florida’s history of fishing and overall conservation and wildlife protection. The “Ding” Darling Wildlife Society–Friends of the Refuge is hosting the 9th

Annual 2021 “Ding” Darling & Doc Ford’s Tarpon Tournament on Friday, May 14, 2021. Proceeds from this tournament will go directly to the conservation efforts at the J.N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge. This is the first and,

we believe, only tournament in SW Florida where 100% of the entry fees go

back to the anglers in prize money. Some of the best tarpon anglers compete in

this tournament and have made it an annual tradition. With competitive fishing, a

captain’s dinner, and an awards banquet, avid anglers and professional guides have

already asked to sign up for this 9th annual tournament, which we anticipate filling up quickly.

The first 20 sponsors at the Gold level and above will receive first priority for

entering the tournament -- the higher the sponsorship level the higher the priority.

Registration will then open to the public, no later than early December.
