The Tasman Mobile Dental Clinic is currently visiting
Takaka Primary School. It will be servicing the Takaka area for five weeks twice a year. If your child is enrolled in this service he/she will be seen during these times. If
your child is new to the area or those who wish to enrol
their children 0-17yrs please phone 0800 825 583. Or 027 705 9129 If you have any concerns please pop
into the mobile anytime.
The date for the Year 6 Dinner has been set for Monday 19th December 2011. Traditionally, Year 5 parents have been mainstays of the organising bunch and so we invite those of you who would like to help with the decoration and organisation to get in touch with Tania Hurst (525 8336 or 027 64 44 547) or Jill Pearson (027 384 8165) or leave your names at the school office. Of course we are more than happy to break with tradition and will welcome any help at all!
Website changes - At present we are working on a notices page on our website,
where we can display notices that go home with the children - for those who
don't live with their children or those whose notices sometimes get mislaid.
We have put Rooms 1 & 5 camp notices on and are working on putting up
Room 4’s notices. There are a few glitches to be fixed by our web design
company.
Keep your eyes out for the page next time you are looking at the website:

their annual Giant Pumpkin Grow-
ing Competition in March 2012. If
you are interested in entering you
are able to buy seeds (2 for 50cents)
to enter at the school office.
Join in and get your family behind
you to grow the biggest pumpkin

School Accounts: Accounts went out last week and we would appreciate settlement as soon as possible so we can tidy things up before the end of the year.
Photo and calendar orders!
These both need to be in by tomorrow afternoon so we can send them
away and get our orders in time to post for
Christmas pressies!
Athletic Sports
Next Friday 2nd December our 7-11year olds will
travel to Collingwood Area School to take part in the
Golden Bay Primary School Athletic Championships.
The children will all take part in long jump, high jump,
200m(7/8yrs), 400m(9/11yrs), Tennis ball throw
(7/8yrs) and Javelin (9/11yrs).
We plan to leave by bus at 9.10am returning by 3pm.
Children will need shorts, school T-Shirt, hat, lunch
and a drink.
Food can be purchased at Collingwood. On sale will be
sausages, chicken kebabs, cake, juicies and juice.
School T-Shirts
We require all of the
school T-shirts for the
athletic sports next
Friday so could you
please have a scout
around the house and
return them to school.
Farewell to Harry the Bus Driver
It was with sadness that we heard that our bus driver
Harry Holmwood had passed away. He had only been
driving our school bus for a short time, but had
obviously made an impact on our children’s lives.
Yesterday some of the children made a bus shaped
card for Harry’s family and in this they remembered
Harry for his kindness, gentleness, and his humour.

that we can finalise planning for

Cup Winners
Yesterday at assembly, Clarissa Gray on
behalf of the G&B Show committee presented
Danny Ryan with the ‘Caught the Judges
Eye’ cup for his Rugby World Cup sand
tray, and Neko Rogers with the award for
best caged pet for her rabbits.
Competition Winner Neo Crowther won the local TDC 7/ 8 year old road safety colouring competition recently and he was
presented with his prizes at assembly, which included hi-viz vest, helmet, bell and puncture

Enviroschools Discovery Bus Tour We have selected four children: Briget Williams, Nico Pessione, Chrystal Boomert and Bonnie Ross to take part in the Enviroschools Discovery Bus Tour as part of their 10th Birthday celebrations next Wednesday 30th November. The tour will visit 2 Enviroschools in the Tasman Region, where the children will get a chance to participate in fun activities, meet other Envirogroups and find inspiration for future Environmental Activity! Wendy will be going over with the children and we hope to get some good ideas from other
schools that we can put into our enviroschools programme next year.
Pool Keys
The pool is up and running now though still very cold.
The Fundraising Committee have purchased a new solar cover
which arrived today and should help heat the pool along with
our solar roof heating.
New pool Keys can be purchased from the office at $50.00
each with a refund of $15.00 to be given if the key is
returned before the term 2 holidays next year.
Well done to those children who were
awarded certificates
yesterday for demonstrating our

Or our Vision
“Believe in Yourself, Be Caring,
Take the Challenge, Succeed!”
