Year 8 students look to the future

Last week, students in Year 8 were treated to an entertaining and thought-provoking theatre performance about their options and plans for the future. The show, performed by a cast from the Solomon Theatre, covered topics such as the influence of learning styles, peer pressure and gender stereotyping in making decisions, bringing these to life using figures from the world of entertainment (including Will.I.Am, Zoella and Dr Who).

The performance was followed by an interactive workshop which the students really engaged well with. This event is part of the Kingdown programme of careers education, intended to help students begin to plan and prepare for their futures.

The Royal British Legion will be holding Advice & Information sessions for anyone who has served or is currently serving in

the Armed Forces and their families.
