FRESNO STATE SOCCER & LACROSSE FIELDThe Fresno State Soccer & Lacrosse Field was built in 2009 with the installation of fencing and landscaping around the perimeter of the venue. A permanent scoreboard, sound system, along with spectator seating is scheduled for installation in the coming months, with a permanent pressbox, additional fi xed seating and other amenities planned for installation in the following seasons. The playing surface is a hybrid Bermuda grass blend.

BULLDOG STADIUM FIELDTURF PROJECTFresno State student-athletes play on the very best in turf technology with the installation of the FieldTurf Revolution system at Bulldog Stadium in 2011. FieldTurf’s Revolution fi ber technology is the result of innovative science, engineering and technology that will provide FieldTurf customers with a soft, strong monofi lament fi ber with extraordinary durability and longevity. With a consistent surface for year-round use, the new addition to Bulldog Stadium demonstrated the university’s and community’s commitment to safety and sustainability as the Bulldogs compete as one of the nation’s elite programs.

MEYERS FAMILY SPORTS MEDICINE CENTERThe Sports Medicine Center will be a 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility that is designed to enhance the health and welfare of all Bulldog student-athletes. This unique and essential facility will allow for preventative medicine, nutritional counseling, physician examination, injury treatment, on-site x-ray and rehabilitation services, and suffi cient offi ce and counseling space to support the Fresno State sports medicine staff and physicians group. The Sports Medicine Center will serve as the third cornerstone of Fresno State’s “Student-Athlete Village,” designed to provide Bulldog student-athletes with a single and secure facility intended to assist their well-being, development, and achievement. No single facility will have a more positive effect on the daily physical well-being and lives of Bulldog student-athletes.

EQUESTRIAN & SOFTBALL SCOREBOARDSIn 2012, Fresno State added new scoreboards at two of its athletic venues - Bulldog Diamond and the Student Horse Center. The new scoreboard at the Bulldog Diamond came as a result of a planned gift to the Fresno State softball program from Vonnie Fogard, a long-time season ticket holder and member of the Bulldog Softball Diamond Club. The new Daktronics LED matrix color scoreboard replaces the old matrix board that was fi rst installed when Bulldog Diamond was built in 1996. Meanwhile at the Student Horse Center, the scoreboard is the fi rst to ever be installed at an NCEA (National Collegiate Equestrian Association) Equestrian venue. The project was spearheaded by the Saddle Club, the equestrian team booster club, who raised all funding exclusively through private funds. The electronic scoreboard is a 5’ x 12’ Daktronics LED.

CROSS COUNTRY FACILITIES Scenic Woodward Park, located in north Fresno, has played host to 14 NCAA Regional Cross Country Championships since the tournament’s inaugural year of 1968. The park most recently hosted the 2004 NCAA Western Region Championship and the 2006 WAC Championships. For the past three decades, the park has not only been utilized as the base for all of Fresno State’s home meets, but has quickly become one of the most well-traveled cross country courses in the state. Woodward Park has hosted more major cross country competitions than any other site on the West Coast, including high school and junior college championship meets. A mild rolling terrain, Woodward Park is home to over seven miles of grass and dirt trails. In addition to being a perfect practice facility, the park is also contains several race courses of varying lengths, including 5k, 4 mile, 5 mile and 10k courses. All of the courses cover the same area of the park, with the first mile identical for all courses, making it a great facility for both competitors and spectators. At all levels, Woodward Park has become an important developmental cross country course. The courses have remained the same through the years, allowing for consistent times and records.

Warmerdam Field has been playing host to Fresno State outdoor home meets since its construction in 1976. The nine-lane, 400-meter on-campus facility is named after Cornelius “Dutch” Warmerdam, the former Fresno State head coach and world record holder in the pole vault. The first-ever dual meet held at Warmerdam was on April 23, 1977, when Fresno State hosted California. Most recently, Warmerdam Field hosted the 2007 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships. In 2008, the Save Mart Center on the Fresno State campus became home to one of the only indoor track facilities in California. A donation by Frank Arnold in honor of his late wife made the construction of the indoor track possible. The Fred and Madeleine Arnold Memorial Track was designed by the Tartan Company and debuted at the 2008 Run for the Dream Indoor Invitational. The facility has been host to youth, high school, collegiate and professional competitions.

SEAN MCMANUSSean McManus enters his fifth season lead-

ing Fresno State’s cross country teams and the track and field distance squads.

In his fourth season as cross country head coach, McManus guided yet an-other freshman-phenom, Lyndsie Etherton, as she was awarded Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Conference honors. On the men’s side, senior Eric Battles and junior Car-son Keller both garnered second-team All-Confer-

ence in 2011.

The men’s and women’s teams both finished fourth overall at the WAC championship. The women sent seven to the NCAA Regionals, which included four underclassmen.

2011 also set marks in academic success as the women’s cross country team had six Academic All-WAC honorees. The most the program has seen since 2004. The men’s team had five honorees, which tied the 2009 squad for the most in the past five seasons.

In McManus’ third season coaching cross country, he coached freshman Oliver Collin who became the WAC Cross Country Athlete of the Year in 2011. The Fresno State men’s team finished fourth overall at the WAC Championship, while the women’s team fin-ished fifth overall. McManus also led six squad team members to the NCAA West Regional in Springfield, Ore.

In 2010 the Fresno State men’s and women’s cross country teams earned eight All-WAC Academic honors. Four female student-athletes and four male student-athletes achieved success on and off the cross country path. Eric Battles, Michael Jamieson, Carson Keller, and Danny Vartanian earned the honor for the men’s team, while Stevie Brumwell, Julianne Warmerdam, Pamela Cruz, and Marrijtje Molenhuis for the women’s team.

In his second season at the helm of the cross coun-try program, McManus coached the Bulldog men to their best conference finish in nearly 20 years. The men took second at the WAC Championships, Fres-no State’s best finish at the conference champion-ship since the team’s 1991 second place finish in the Big West. Erick Garcia paced the team with a second place finish and First-Team All-WAC honors. Zwama, a newcomer to the cross country team, and fresh-man Danny Vartanian also picked up all-conference accolades.

The women’s team continued to grow as a team, bettering their standing within the conference and producing an all-conference performer in Roxanne Sellick. Sellick rounded out her senior campaign with four Top 10 finishes including an individual meet title and an eighth place finish in conference.

In 2009, 10 cross country student-athletes earned the conference’s academic award, including five men and five women. Eric Battles, Max Hernandez, Mitch-ell Pfyl, Sanders and Zwama all earned Academic All-WAC honors for the men, while Stevie Brumwell, Marissa McPhail, Daysi Cruz, Sellick and Julianne Warmerdam were honored for the women.

In his opening season, McManus coached Garcia to an appearance at the NCAA Championships, a first for Fresno State since Tim Holmes’ back-to-back ap-pearances in 1979 and 1980. McManus also guided Garcia to a Fresno State 10K record of 29:40.85 at the NCAA West Regional in Palo Alto, Calif., best-ing Rich Lanford’s 29:48 set in 1976 at the NCAA Championships. During the season, Garcia

McManus’s first season coaching the women’s team featured the Bulldog’s improvement working as a team and setting personal bests. Jennifer Hernandez earned her first all-conference recognition, finishing eighth at the conference meet for second team All-WAC honors.

Seven Bulldogs earned Academic All-WAC honors under McManus’s guidance in the 2008 cross coun-try season. Briana Cleary and McPhail earned the academic accolade for the women. Five men (Bat-tles, Brandon Geis, Max Hernandez, Mitchell Pfyl and Sanders) picked up the conference academic honor.

In his first season coaching the Bulldog distance rac-ers, McManus’s athletes garnered nine All-WAC hon-ors, one conference title, two NCAA Regional qualifi-cations and four Academic All-WAC honors.

On the track, McManus’s athletes found similar suc-

cess. During the 2009 women’s indoor track and field season, Roxanne Sellick finished third in the mile and fifth in the 3,000-meter run, earn-ing two All-WAC honors. Sellick returned to the track, taking second in both the 1,500 and the 5,000 at the WAC Outdoor Championships for another pair of conference accolades. She also qualified for the NCAA Regionals in the 1,500 and marked the sec-ond-best time in Fresno State history for the event. Marissa McPhail scored a fourth place finish in the 10,000 to earn all-conference honors as well.

The men’s outdoor track and field team grabbed four all-conference honors, including one confer-ence crown, in the distance events in McManus’s first season as well. Sanders won the 1,500 at the WAC Outdoor Championship, earning an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional. He had already qualified for the NCAA Regional and taken over eighth-place in the history books for Bulldogs in the event. Sand-ers also finished in sixth in the 800 at the conference championship. One of McManus’s first recruits, Paul Zwama, had a strong showing at the WAC Outdoor Championships as well. Zwama scored a set of silver medals at the conference meet, finishing second in both the 5,000 and 10,000 races.

ing three seasons as an assistant coach for Florida State. While at FSU, McManus assisted head coach

Bob Braman in coaching the cross country teams as well as working with the distance runners in track and

field. McManus helped guide the Seminole men’s track and field team to three-consecutive NCAA Championships in 2006, 2007 and 2008 and six ACC Championships. He also assisted in the Seminole women’s top 25 finishes at the NCAA Championships. At FSU, McManus’s athletes earned a wide array of honors, including three NCAA in-dividual titles, 22 ACC individual championships and 19 All-American accolades.

Prior to FSU, McManus was an assistant cross country and track coach at Notre Dame from 2001-02 and 2003-05. McManus oversaw training for student-athletes com-peting in mid to distance and cross country events. He was instrumental in recruiting top local, national and interna-tional student-athletes to a highly competitive academic institution.

During his time at Notre Dame, McManus coached student-athletes earning 25 All-Americans, 64 All-Big East and 22 All-Great Lakes Region honors as well as four Academic All-Americans. He helped produce thirteen individual Big East champions and two Big East Athletes of the Year.

McManus is no stranger to the NCAA Champion-

ships scene as he helped the men’s and women’s cross country squads to multiple appearances. Dur-ing McManus’ tenure the men’s team finished sixth (2001) and 11th (2004) and the women’s team finished 19th (2001), 10th (2003) and fourth (2004). He was also an integral part of a Notre Dame staff that earned two Big East coaching staff of the year honors.

From 2002-03, McManus served as a volunteer assistant at the University of Florida where he assisted the men’s and women’s cross country and distance programs. He helped produce six All-SEC, five All-South Region, one All-American and one Academic All-District award winner. McManus earned a masters of science in exercise science with a specialization in sports pedagogy and an emphasis on athlete motivation from Florida.

As an undergraduate, McManus attended Notre Dame from 1996 to 2001 where he earned a bachelor’s of sci-ence in civil engineering. He competed four years in cross country and track. While running for the Irish, he helped his cross country team to four top 12 team finishes at the NCAA Championships.

James Sewell is in his fifth season as assisting the Fresno State cross country and track and field teams. Sewell came to the Bulldogs after serving six seasons as the head cross country coach at Hofstra University. A three-time Collegiate Track Conference (CTC) Coach of the Year, Sewell guided the team to 19 new individual school records, 35 All-CTC selections, six All-Cross Country Only National selections, and three All-CAA selections. Sewell also coached an NCAA All-Region selection and CAA Rookie of the Year, All-ECAC and All-IC4A selections. During his tenure, both the men’s and women’s teams posted their highest finishes in every major championship in which they competed. Prior to Hofstra, Sewell coached four years at Adelphi University, the last three as head coach. He also served as assistant men’s and women’s track and field coach during his four years at Adelphi. During his tenure as head cross country coach, the Panthers captured a total of five New York Collegiate Athletic Conference (NYCAC) men’s and women’s cross country titles. The men’s program captured conference titles in 1999 through 2001 while the women’s team posted league titles in 2000 and 2001. In 2001, Sewell directed the Adelphi women’s cross country team to a second-place finish at the NCAA Division II New England Regional Championships, earning their first-ever trip to the NCAA Championships. Sewell, a graduate of Adelphi, had a stellar collegiate cross country career, earning two first team all-conference honors and captaining the school’s first and second conference championship teams. Sewell moved to Fresno with his wife, Lauren Netherby-Sewell, head coach of the Fresno State volleyball team. Sewell works in the Fresno State athletics department, serving as the Staff Assistant to the Director of Athletics, Thomas Boeh.

CROSS COUNTRY 2011 SEASON REVIEW ........................................................The Fresno State men’s cross country season was highlighted by two second-team All-Conference selections and a fourth-place finish at the 2011 WAC Championships under fourth year coach Sean McManus.

The Bulldogs were led by senior Eric Battles and junior Carson Keller, who both earned the all-conference nods after finishing in 13th and 14th-place, respectively. Battles took 13th with a time of 26:33, while Keller finished with a time of 26:24 to claim 14th at the WAC Championships in Honolulu, Hawai’i.

The men’s team excelled in the classroom as well with five student-athletes earning 2011 Academic All-WAC honors. Honorees included; Battles, Keller, Olivier Bernard, Kevin Poythress and Paul Zwama. The team was also recognized as an USATFCCA All-Academic Team.

The season began at the Nevada Twilight 6K with all seven runners finishing 18th or better in route to earning a second-place finish at the meet. Battles led the pack with a scorch-ing time of 19:54 and a second-place finish individually. The following Tuesday, Battles was honored with the WAC Men’s Cross Country Athlete of the Week for his performance. Keller placed right behind Battles in fifth-place with a time of 20:00. The team accumulated 47 points on the day, just 16 points shy of first-place.

The team then traveled to Sacramento State for the Hornet Jamboree 4M and placed second overall as a team for the second consecutive week. This time it was Zwama who led the Bulldogs, he completed the race in seventh-place individ-

ually while logging a time of 19:39. Zwama’s time placed him 14th in the all-time record books for a 4-mile event for Fresno State.

Followed the Hornet Jamboree the ’Dogs were faced with their biggest challenge of the season yet at the Stanford Invitational 8K. Coach McManus’ top three runners competed well against some the best competition the nation had to offer. Zwama led the team for the second week in a row with a time of 24:46 which was good for 27th individually. Battles placed directly behind at 28th with a time of 24:47 and Keller finished in 60th with a time of 25:24.

The Bulldogs’ next challenge would be the Notre Dame Invi-tational 8K, traveling to South Bend, Ind. for the third-straight year. Battles led the team, placing 148th individually with a time of 26:02.

After receiving a week off from the team’s longest trip and most challenging event, the ’Dogs headed to Santa Clara for the Bronco Invitational for a final tune-up before the confer-ence championships. Zwama once again led Fresno State individually with a time of 24:38, which helped boast the team to a 11th-place finish collectively.

The ’Dogs would go on to the WAC Championships the fol-lowing week and take fourth-place, it would be the last time the team competed as a conference member before heading to the Mountain West.

Youth served as the catalyst for the ’Dogs success in 2011 as coach Sean McManus had four underclassmen compete in the NCAA West Regionals out of the team’s seven qualifiers. Fresno State finished in 17th-place at the NCAA Regionals in Palo Alto, Calif. against strong competition proving the ’Dogs were on the rise.

Among the standout Bulldogs was freshman Lyndsie Etherton, who was awarded WAC Freshman of the Year and first-team All-Confer-ence accolades after the WAC Championships in Honolulu, Hawai’i. She went on to set the third fastest time ever recorded by a Bulldog at the NCAA Regionals in the 6K with a time of 21:16.

The cross country team also set records inside the classroom as six members were 2011 Academic All-WAC honorees, the most the pro-gram had seen in eight years. Honorees included, Saylah Barserian, Stevie Brumwell, Pamela Cruz, Kristen Galvez, Marritjte Molenhuis and Ann Poythress. The team was also recognized as an USATF-CCCA All-Academic Team.

The season began with the Nevada Chase 4K as the team took third-place. Poythress led the team with a time of 19:03 and a third-place finish individually, while Etherton came in at 10th-place with a time of 19:35 in her first collegiate run.

Next up for the ’Dogs would be the Hornet Jamboree 5K. Etherton paced the ’Dogs this time with a 13th-place finish, timing in at 18:10. Poythress would follow her past the finish line in 14th-place clocking in at 18:12. The team placed fourth in the event with 91 points.

Fresno State’s third weekend of competition would split up the wom-en’s team into two separate events. Seven were chosen to compete

in the Stanford 6K, while the rest of the team traveled to the Road-runner 5K. At the Stanford 6K Etherton timed 21:39 for a 28th-place finish and Poythress followed with a time of 21:46, good for 35th. At the Roadrunner event, Brumwell shined and placed first overall individually, clocking in at 18:56, while Alyson De La Rose finished the race in fourth with a time of 19:45.

The following week would mark the longest journey the team would encounter during the season traveling to South Bend, Ind. for the Notre Dame Invitational. The team would finish in 26th-place versus some of the strongest competition the nation had to offer.

The final tune-up before the WAC Championships was the Bronco Invitational in Santa Clara, Calif. The team would place eighth overall behind Etherton’s team- leading 17:35 mark for 14th-place. Poythress trailed behind Etherton and led, Molenhuis, Meagan Paracholski, Carina Mendoza, Galvez and Barserian.

At the team’s final WAC Championship before heading to the Moun-tain West the team finished in fourth-place and qualified for the NCAA West Regionals. Etherton led the women’s team in the 5K finishing seventh with a time of 18:51.3.

The ’Dogs concluded their season at the NCAA West Regionals in impressive fashion as they bettered their seated position heading into the race, finishing 17th overall. Etherton yet again led the team as a freshman clocking a time of 21:16. Poythress and Paracholski would round out the top-three finishers for Fresno State, who all were competing in their first collegiate season.

Dr. John D. Welty has been president of California State University, Fresno since July 29, 1991. He is also a professor in the Kremen School of Education & Human Development. Fresno State enrolls more than 22,000 students and offers 61 undergraduate degrees, 45 master degree programs, and three doctoral degrees. The campus is located on 1,500 acres and academic programs are housed in eight colleges and schools. Since 1991 the University has become recognized as one of the nation’s best engaged universities, expanded minority enrollment, created an Honors College, revised its general education requirements, added new academic programs and institutes, and constructed $425 million in facilities, including a new $102 million library.

Since 1991 the University has introduced service learning into the curriculum and expanded community service opportunities for students, improved services for students, streamlined administrative processes, launched a major commitment to expand the use of information technology, earned membership in the Mountain West Conference, expanded intercollegiate Athletic opportunities and facilities for women, led the effort to build the Save Mart Center, and dramatically increased private fund raising and grant and

With a proven track record of strong leadership, integrity, sound academic values and athletics achievement, Thomas Boeh enters his 31st year of athletics administration, 18th year as an NCAA Division I-A Director of Athletics and eighth year at Fresno State, including leading the Bulldogs’ transition into the Mountain West Conference.

In July of 2005, Boeh was charged to stabilize, reform and revitalize the athletics program at Fresno State. As a result of this charge, the Department of Athletics has been entirely restructured with a new senior administrative team. Special emphasis has been placed upon a consistent and value-based approach to decision-making, as well as clearly delineating areas of responsibilities with built-in accountability. Considerable attention has been directed towards creating a progressive student-athlete environment and strict adherence to well-defi ned NCAA compliance protocols and standards.

New polices have been developed regarding student-athletes recruitment, oversight and welfare. The Student-Athlete Code of Conduct and Substance Abuse Educational and Testing Program have been reviewed and strengthened, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Council has been re-energized. Departmental and institutional protocols relative to admissions, fi nancial aid and eligibility have all been restructured in conjunction with campus leaders. Fresno State’s student-athletes have benefi ted signifi cantly from these measures and, in conjunction with enhanced support services, they have fostered a better-quality experience that is refl ected in greatly improved Academic Progress Rates, fewer Code of Conduct violations and extensive community service activity. Additionally, all athletics fundraising activities have been consolidated within the new Bulldog Foundation and philanthropic gifts to Athletics have risen to record levels.

Fresno State Athletics has been working closely with a nationally renowned consultant, a broad-based President-appointed ad hoc committee, and the Offi ce of Civil Rights to remedy all past gender equity issues and create at Fresno State a model Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) athletics program relative to Title IX compliance. One component of this effort is the addition of two new women’s sports; lacrosse and swimming & diving both began competition during the 2008-09 academic year. All athletics facilities have been evaluated and a 10-year master plan, inclusive of the “Athletics Mall” and “Student-Athlete Village” has been developed and introduced to the community. Several projects have been completed to date, including a state-of-art aquatics venue, and construction scheduled for another cornerstone project, a sports medicine center.

Fresno State’s competitive level continues to be among the leaders in conference and regional play, and several teams have achieved national

contract funding. The University is currently completing a $200 million capital campaign. The university has been actively involved in addressing issues in Central California and engaging itself with the entire region. Dr. Welty has served on both of the CSU System’s major strategic planning efforts. He participated in the creation of the Voluntary System of Accountability which has been adopted by over 200 colleges and universities. He is called upon frequently to discuss the role of engaged universities. He has served on several advisory groups to the U.S. Departments of Education and Agriculture. He is a past-chair of the Renaissance Group which is a national organization of over 30 Universities dedicated to improved teacher education programs. He co-chaired the CSU’s effort to create CALState Teach, an innovative program designed for emergency credentialed teachers and chaired a CSU group on preparing educational leaders. He chairs the Cal State Online Advisory Board, is Chair of the CSU Gender Equity Monitoring Committee and also serves on the executive board of the Central California Campus Compact. He joined the Board of the California Healthcare Foundation in 2012. In addition, he has chaired three national conferences on substance abuse and prevention and chaired a CSU effort to review alcohol policies and programs.

Dr. Welty is a national leader in higher education. He was elected to serve as WASC Commissioner in 2000 and served a three year term as the WASC Commission Chair. He is past chair of the American Humanics, Inc. Board and the American Association of State

Colleges and Universities, and WAC Board of Directors. He was appointed

to the Urban Serving Universities (USU) Board in 2012. He served on the NCAA Board Executive Committee and the special NCAA Task Force on the Future of Intercollegiate A t h l e t i c s . Currently, he serves on the NCAA Board of Directors and is the Mountain West

representat ive to the Bowl

THOMAS BOEH

F ATHLETIC

Fresno State’s competitive level continues to be among the leaders in conference and regional play, and several teams have achieved national

rankings. Since 2005, conference championships and advancement to NCAA Championship competition has been achieved in the sports of women’s basketball, track & fi eld, women’s soccer, baseball, women’s golf, softball and men’s and women’s tennis, with four enjoying a Top-20 national ranking, and baseball capturing the 2008 National Championship. Additionally, Fresno State student-athletes have advanced to post-season competition in the sports of football, men’s basketball and equestrian. The success of Bulldog student-athletes led Fresno State to three Western Athletic Conference Commissioner’s Cups in a fi ve-year span (2007-08, 2008-09 & 2011-12). Additionally, Sports Illustrated’s SI.com ranked Fresno State the nation’s 18th most accomplished NCAA Division I athletics program for 2007-08.

Prior to his arrival in Fresno in July of 2005, Boeh spent the previous 10 years as the Director of Athletics at Ohio University, where he led the program to exceptional levels in numerous categories and earning numerous conference championships.

In 2001, The Sporting News ranked Ohio’s department 32nd among the 115 NCAA I-A institutions, the highest ranking of any non-BCS program. The ranking included evaluations for competitive success, fan support, integrity and equity. Ohio earned an “A” rating in graduation rates and NCAA compliance and posted an eight-year high graduation rate of 73 percent in 2004.

Under Boeh’s leadership, Ohio was extremely aggressive in its efforts to achieve gender equity and compliance with Title IX. Three women’s sports programs were initiated during Boeh’s tenure, and in 2004 The Chronicle of Higher Education reported that Ohio ranked second nationally among all NCAA I-A institutions relative to the equity of men’s and women’s sport program expenditures.

Additionally, numerous women’s facilities were constructed; sports budgets were restructured and decision-making procedures were reorganized to establish what Boeh refers to as an “authentic gender-neutral environment.” Annual fundraising totals rose more than 500 percent and Ohio Athletics concluded the University’s Bicentennial Capital Campaign by exceeding its $10 million departmental goal.

Some of the more visible changes on the Ohio campus during Boeh’s tenure were the facilities for student-athlete support services, practice and competition. In all, 44 facilities saw major renovation or new construction and Ohio’s athletics physical plant was recognized as being among the best and most effi cient in the Midwest.

In addition, Boeh served a term as the Mid-American Conference (MAC) representative to the NCAA Management Council, the NCAA’s

most prestigious governing body for athletics administrators. Boeh also served as the chair of the MAC Athletics Directors’ Group and member of the MAC Executive Council.

Prior to his tenure at Ohio, Boeh served as Associate Director of Athletics for External Affairs at Northwestern University, overseeing areas such as development, marketing, ticket operations, sports publications, media services, game management and broadcast properties. Boeh also led the popular “Expect Victory” campaign, Northwestern’s fi rst-ever multimedia marketing effort.

Preceding Northwestern, Boeh served the University of Maine as Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Administration and Development. He also spent time in a variety of roles with the Big Ten Television Network, The University of Illinois, and his alma mater, Loras College of Iowa.

The Chicago-area native received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Physical Education with a minor in History at Loras in 1981, and a Master of Science degree in Athletic Administration from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in 1988.
