How to install the felt pad floor protector?where you will be applying the felt pad, such as bottom of a chair leg, with a dry rag.Use a small amount of soap and water to clean the area if there is any buildup tocreate a smooth, clean surface for the felt pad to adhere to.Peel the paper off theadhesive back of the felt pad and press it firmly onto the bottom of the piece offurniture and hold for around 10 seconds to create a tight seal. Or, lightly tap the padonto the leg with a hammer if you are using a tap-in felt pad.

Can I install the felt pad floor protector over the old protector?No, you should remove the old protector completely, including adhesive, and thendepending on the leg bottom condition, prep as necessary. See maintenance tips

How can I remove the old protector?Use a beveled wood chisel or a small ‘catspaw”. The catspaw also is great forremoving small nails or tacks.Both are available at a hardware store. Use care anddon’t damage the wood.

Do I need to add adhesive?No, with PSA( Pressure Sensitive Adhesive) which is the type of adhesive used onfloor protectors. Additional adhesive will actually weaken the bond. PSA is used forthis application because it doesn’t harden. An adhesive that hardens and becomesbrittle will eventually fracture and fail for this type of application.
