Slide 4 What are the June Orientation dates? The two-day sessions in June are: Session A June 3 & 4, 2012 (Sunday & Monday) Session B June 10 & 11, 2012 (Sunday & Monday) Session C June 13 & 14, 2012 (Wednesday & Thursday) Session D June 17 & 18 (Sunday & Monday) -Not available to reserve until May 21 st Session T June 8, 2012 (Friday) Transfer and Part-Time Student Session Slide 5 Can I make my reservation via telephone? Unfortunately, we do not make reservations via telephone. All students must fill out their RESERVATION form via the web site which is on myPlymouth. I cant find the reservation! I cant find the reservation! REMEMBER! New students MUST attend new student orientation in order to enroll as a student at Plymouth State University. Slide 6 How do I sign up? An email was sent to your personal and PSU email address from the New Student Orientation Office. Within this email are directions on how to find the form and what to do with it. Slide 7 Why have I not received any Orientation information? Have you sent in your tuition deposit to PSU and has it been received? Information is sent out via email ONLY to students who have paid their deposit to PSU. I cant find the reservation! Slide 8 How do I sign-up! An email will be sent to your personal and PSU email address from the New Student Orientation Office. Within this email are directions on how to find the form and what to do with it. Slide 9 Do I have to attend both days? Yes! If you have a conflict with the evening events, you can go home and come back in the morning. However, we highly recommend you stay over to meet new students and to get a feel for residential life. Slide 10 Can I switch sessions? Yes! If space is available in the session you would like to switch into. PLEASE call 1-800-842-6900 Ask for the New Student Orientation Office. Then ask to be transferred to Randy. Slide 11 Do I have to take the Math Placement? Yes! If you are majoring in Biology Biotechnology Chemistry Computer Science Information Technology Mathematics Meteorology If you are taking Calculus This math placement helps in determining what math class you should take. It is available online at the link below. It is advised that you please take the placement prior to Orientation However, any student is welcome to take the placement its free and students will be placed in a math class to their skill level. http://www.plymouth.edu/webapp/courses/course/view.php?id=11244 Slide 12 What time do I have to be there? Arrival/Check-in is between 8:00am- 11:30am on day 1 at the Hartman Union Building (HUB) Slide 13 Do I have to stay on campus overnight? No. However it is highly recommended so that you can meet new students and get a feel for residential life. Students will be housed in either Grafton or Smith Hall. Co-ed arrangements (by floor) and it is on a first come first served basis. Slide 14 Do parents/guests have to attend both days? No. It is not mandatory for parents/guests. However, if they would like to attend, here is the breakdown $35.00/ per family member, Day I attendance only (includes lunch & dinner) $20.00/ per family member Day II attendance only (includes breakfast and lunch) $55.00 per family member for Day I and Day II not staying overnight (includes all meals) $65.00 per family member for Day I and Day II staying overnight (includes all meals) Slide 15 Do parents/guests have to stay on campus? No However, from past orientations, the parents/guests have had a great time staying in the residence hall for the evening (Langdon Woods). Students participating in the Freshman Abroad Program MUST sign up for Session D (June 17&18).Freshman Abroad Program If they are unable, please contact either Deb Regan or Lisa Ladd from the Global Education Office at bagley@plymouth.edubagley@plymouth.edu Slide 17 Nursing Students. Students accepted into the nursing program MUST sign up for Session A (June 3&4)nursing program However, if you are a Transfer/Part-Time student going into the nursing program, then you will sign up for Session T (June 8 th ). If they are unable, please contact Dr. Mary Bantell from the Nursing Department at mbantell@plymouth.edu mbantell@plymouth.edu Slide 18 Can I get a REFUND? All refund requests must be made in writing to the New Student Orientation Office explaining the reason, and you will be refunded minus the cost of the meals. It will be mailed to you, the student, after the June Orientation program is over or if requested, it may be put toward your tuition bill.
