Exposition: Introducing the main character, Lola.

The first shot with her and her friend running states

that they are good friends that get along very well.

The voiceover of the girl stating who she is, why

they call her LOL and how her life isnt all fun and

games. The next shot of them in the teachers roomshows they are quite rebellious, getting in trouble

together and states why they were running at the

start. The shot of them laughing goes against what

she said about her life's not all laughs, making the

audience think that she is a typical teenager with a

bad attitude and a good childish life. The music atthe beginning is rather techno street music, typical

teenage French song. When she says But my life is

not all laughs the music cuts off like a record player

showing the teachers face. Then starts up again

    when they start laughing.

Complication: Voiceover of Lola saying Then

theres guys whilst looking at the boy she was

running to school with. Creating the complication of

typical teenage boys making the audience believe

that this film is a stereotype of teenage girls chasing

after boys, to create a false impression. The

complication states that she likes the boy more then

she wants to but they seem to be just friends. The

two shots show her as being a very friendly girl,

    quite popular.

Voiceover saying And finally, my mother this

creates the last complication leading on to the rising

and showing the relationship between her family, her

conditions at home and showing the audience why

her life is not all laughs.

Rising Complication: They music stays when they show her mum,

shot reverse shot show the difference between them but the mise en

scene of them in the bath shows their closeness. The dialogue states

her mum is very overprotective of her, wants her to stay young and

doesnt appreciate her growing up, quite naive in a sense. However her

mum is shown to be very young and difficult, smoking weed every

night, the rising complication shows she is a difficult mum to have,

creating risks for her daughter yet thinks that her habits haven't and

wont catch on to Lola. Lola states that her parents have split up,

creating another complication but they are doing each other again.

Must be difficult on Lola, the mum is shown to be very immature,

care free and wild in her life but worries about Lola. When it showsLola being worried about her virginity state it shows her as having her

mum and normal teenage problems going on. The audience are aware

of the issues in her mind, becoming more attached to her and

reaching to their target audience of 16-25 year olds. Showing the party

scene creates a busy tension and also the audience will relate to

personal experience as parties usually lead to trouble.

Climax: Mum comes into the house, drops her bad and the

music stops. Climax is created through her scream of Lolas

name echoing in the house and the music stopping at that

moment. Shot of Lola coming down the stairs and mumasking a rhetorical question shows she knows why shes in

trouble creating a tense mood. Sound bridge of her mum

shouting at Lola saying you can do live with Dad! creating a

troublesome mood. Song changes into an English slow sad

song, shows how much she is affected by her mums words,

life is getting hard on her. It really reaches out to theaudience.

Unlike most trailers that I have seen,

they usually end at the climax leaving the

audience wanting more. However in this

trailer after the climax takes place shots

of Lola with her friends laughing havingfun appear, shot with her and her mum

at a movie and then the end shot of the

mum and the dad talking about Lola.

Feels to me they gave too much away

but the effect of the resolution shots

remind the audience of the teenage life,

goes back to making us connect to the

trailer and wanting to see the film on a

    more emotional level.

This trailer would relates perfectly to the French cinema trailer we want to create; the

target audience is the same as the target we were hoping to catch. This trailer is funny,

edgy, bouncy and holds all the characteristic for a typical teenage girl life.

For our trailer and film we want to create the same theme as them, having complications

due to friends, boyfriends and parents. However not using the exact same because unlike

this film and trailer we want to approach it and base it completely round the Frenchconcept. The film will be made for France, as this trailer is a French film but using

English conventions. Such as the humour is English and the problems. They created it to

humour French people about the English, they chose to produce it they think it is how

English see French people. As sexual, drug obsessed and rebellious individuals. As

instead we want to target it to France, produce it in France but have it national like

Amelie, so the story line will need to be inspirational.
