• FreeNEST 1.3 project platform is virtual work environment which can be used for training product development FreeNEST development project is under work at at JAMK University of Applied Science (www.jamk.fi)
• FreeNEST project platform is combination of several best of breed open source tools and integration framework
• Main target is provide a free development environment for training and real life product development
• FreeNEST 1.3 is ALM/PLM capable team work environment

About Main Concepts

(It has been developed using FreeNEST)
FreeNEST is virtual work environment for product
development. It will provide all main tools and methods for
team of 1-20 people

Students and trainer are using FreeNEST as work place during whole course

Cloud/Virtual server infrasturcture
FreeNEST project instace are running as virtual server
instances. One team has own server instance
Web Browser
FreeNEST Project Environment is used through Web Browser
Course Specific Material Every course is unique. Student
own created design material are added to FreeNEST
databases during course
Reasons for IFDK Reference Product?
• Provide one product context which can be used for training software & product development
• It helps to write common training material for
FreeNEST.
• Product idea should be little bit ”absurd” to innovation generation process in class room
