Jesus calming the storm. You can find it

in your Bible - Matthew 8 v 23 – 27.

Read the story together with your family.

Question Zone (Get your family to ask you the questions below on the Bible Passage).

Jesus heard the disciples cries and kept them safe. We are living in scary times, but

Jesus hears all of our prayers and even when things seem so scary with coronavirus we can know that Jesus is with us and in control.

A Prayer to say together Dear God

Thank you for the story of calming the storm. Thank you that you are with us in these scary times and that you always hear our

prayers. We pray for everyone in the world who are scared too. Amen

Activity time

You will need music

Play a game of Musical Storms – when the music plays everybody should dance and move around like they are

being blown about in the storm. When the music stops, they should freeze and be still like the storm in the story.

My Lighthouse – by Rend Co. Kids is a great song to play the game to as it talks about God being our peace in the

1. Go and look for some photographs of family you want to pray for. 2. Look for photographs of friends you want to pray for.

3. Find some of your favourite toys 4. What is your favourite food

5. What is your favourite sport.

Once you have all of the above now

1. Pray for the family members in your photographs 2. Pray for the friends in your photographs

3. Thank you, Lord for all your amazing toys 4. Thank you, Lord for your favourite food

5. Thank you, Lord that you can play your favourite sport 6. Thank you, Lord for always looking after me and for all the wonderful things we

have. Amen

Activity time

Make your own boat with your family.

You will need paper, lollypop sticks, wool and colouring pens. At bath time you can see if your boat floats

Make your own origami boat together. Instructions are below.

Once you have made the boat you could make people figures (these would be the

disciples and Jesus) Use lollypop sticks, draw eyes, a nose and mouth. Also you can glue on wool hair strands for the hair. Then go into the boat and at bath time you

can put the boat into the water and tell your family about Jesus calming the storm.
