Regular Meeting Minutes

The mission of the Freehold Township Schools, in partnership with our community, is to prepare all students to be responsible citizens and life long learners.

The Freehold Township Board of Education met in Regular Session on Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at the West Freehold School, 100 Castronova Way, Freehold, New Jersey, County of Monmouth, in the school district. Meeting called to order at 8:00 p.m. Mrs. Poklemba-Holtz read the following statement in conformance with the “Open Public Meetings Act”, Chapter 231, PL 1975, effective January 19, 1976: “A notice listing the time, date and place of this meeting was posted on the public bulletin board of all Freehold Township Schools, on the entrance door to the Administration Offices of the Board of Education, on the district website, at the Office of the Freehold Township Clerk and published in the Asbury Park Press on Monday, May 4, 2009, and mailed to the News Transcript on Friday, June 5, 2009. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mrs. Poklemba-Holtz led the Board in the pledge of allegiance. Eisenhower School Yearbook to the Board of Education. Dr. Setaro introduced Mr. Soviero, Principal of the Barkalow School, who introduced Rachael Korba,

Sydney Berkowitz, and Zach Edelman who presented the 2009 Barkalow Yearbook to the Board of Education.

Dr. Setaro then introduced Mr. Aldarelli, Principal of the West Freehold School, who had the

Kindergarten and fifth grade students provide a musical performance. On motion of Mrs. McMillan and seconded by Mr. Buffett, the board recessed at 8:27 pm. Motion carried by unanimous voice vote of those present. On motion of Mrs. McMillan and seconded by Mr. Buffett, the board reconvened at 8:47 pm. TRANSFER OF CURRENT YEAR SURPLUS TO RESERVE

7. WHEREAS, NJSA 18A:21-2 and NJSA 18A:7G-13 permit a Board of Education to establish and/or deposit into certain reserve accounts at year end, and WHEREAS, the aforementioned statutes authorize procedures, under the authority of the Commissioner of Education, which permit a board of education to transfer anticipated excess current revenue or unexpended appropriations into reserve accounts during the month of June by board resolution, and

WHEREAS, the Freehold Township Board of Education wishes to deposit anticipated current year surplus into a Capital Reserve account at year end, and
