CELEBRATEHoliday Market Festival + Bonfire Two Fun-Filled Days!Mark your calendar for the annual Rosslyn Holiday Market Festival + Bonfire! Now in its fourth year, this two-day community event keeps getting better, with a full agenda of activities that are sure to get you in the holiday spirit.

The market opens Friday at 3 p.m. Bring your friends and colleagues after work to shop for holiday gifts — including fashion accessories, clothing, gourmet food and handcrafted home goods — from more than 25 local businesses. Stay for the Pub in the Park, bonfire, local food trucks such as Chix N Stix and Fava Pot, and a free live performance by ’80s tribute band The Reflex.

Saturday morning, the celebration gets started at 7:30 a.m. with the five-mile Great Chocolate Race. Besides enjoying a Chocolate Festival afterwards in Gateway Park, runners will be among the first to hit the market when it opens at 8:30. This will be a great day for families: Festival-goers can get free pictures with Santa, participate in a free gingerbread houses workshop, and take in performances featuring local choral groups singing holiday songs.

Friday and Saturday, create some fun memories at our free photo booth and holiday card mailing station.

NATIONAL CHAMBER ENSEMBLE ANNUAL HOLIDAY CONCERT

An annual tradition, this holiday concert brings classical masterpieces and holiday favorites together in one fun program for the whole family. Performers include soprano Rebecca Littig and the 2016 winner of NCE’s Outstanding Young Artist Achievement Award. The concert concludes with a Carols Sing-Along.

Central Place Plaza/1800 N. Lynn St. Starting June 2017

With the completion of Central Place Plaza comes the return of the Rosslyn Farmers Market! Beginning in June, shop fresh, local produce and enjoy other activities on the plaza, such as free live musical performances. The market, which will be open every week, is brought to you in partnership with FRESHFARM Market, a non-profit that promotes sustainable agriculture and improves food access and equity in the Mid-Atlantic Region.

AN UPDATE FROM THE ROSSLYN BID

This season at the Rosslyn BID has been a busy and important one. Our team constantly strives to create an exciting, urban lifestyle here in Rosslyn, and we’ve recently implemented several new elements to encourage activity, including our Pub in the Park and Pop-up Food Truck Giveaways.

The marketing and communications team is also launching a project that focuses even more on you. As our Rosslyn residents, employees and neighbors, we want to know what you think about our community. What are the things about Rosslyn that make you excited? When you tell people where you live or work, how do you share about your community?

At the heart, we want to know: What does Rosslyn mean to you?

Several restaurants are coming to Central Place, the JBG Companies’ two-tower complex currently under construction in Lower Rosslyn. Those planned to date include sweetgreen, The Little Beet, Nando’s Peri-Peri, and Compass Coffee.

Findings on Georgetown-Rosslyn Gondola announced

ZGF Architects, the firm that conducted a feasibility study for a gondola connecting Georgetown and Rosslyn, announced in early November that such a project would be possible, based on their research. The rankings website Niche.com recently named Arlington the Best City to Live in the U.S., giving it an A+ for its schools, family life, nightlife, and health and fitness.
