Everybody’s Talking!Lonely house: An interesting place in Iceland is called thePrídrangaviti Lighthouse. With a name that means “three rockpillars,” it was built in 1939 on top of a slim rock outcrop thatsits six miles off the country’s southern coast, near the WestmanIslands. The red-roofed lighthouse is on the largest of four suchrock pillars protruding from the sea. To build it, constructionworkers first had to build a road to the cliff, and then had toclimb to the top of the cliff with the materials. Today, mainte-nance workers get there via helicopter. No one lives in this light-house, as it is so remote and isolated.Vulture madness: It’s not uncommon to hear about cases inwhich pigeons, crows, or gulls take over a place in large numbers,but vultures? That’s what happened in a neighbourhood in WestPalm Beach, Florida (U.S.). Apparently, someone started feedingthe vultures, an act that served to attract other vultures to cometo the free buffet. Unfortunately, a committee of vultures makesquite a mess, and homeowners ended up with pecked vehicles,torn screens, and invaded swimming pools. Even fake owls andloud music have failed to scare the birds away.Blue-eyed sisters: A couple from Reading, England, owntwo “American Type” Russian Blue cats. Named Xafi and Auri,this pair of sisters has attracted a lot of attention on social mediabecause of their interesting blue-green eyes. The feline breed isquite gentle and intelligent, and these two love to pose for thecamera. Their owners say that Xafi and Auri get along really well,loving to cuddle with each other. To get photos, the owners usetreats and toys, but say the best pictures emerge when the catsare just being themselves and are acting naturally.Alpine adventure: With the Matterhorn in full view, themountain town of Zermatt is a scenic place to visit inSwitzerland. In the winter, it is known for its great skiing andother snow sports, such as skating and curling. In other seasons,mountain biking, rock climbing, and hiking on mountain trailskeep adventurous people busy. Those who aren’t athletic cango on the Matterhorn glacier ride, a cable car ride that offersviews of the glacier landscape. After the day’s activities, a visitorcan dine at one of the many top-class restaurants that line thestreets of the town.

1/2 cup butter3 tablespoons minced garlic3 tablespoons soy sauce1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon dried parsley6 boneless chicken thighs, with skindried parsley, to taste

Preheat the oven broiler. Lightly grease a baking pan. In a microwave safe bowl, mix the butter, garlic, soy sauce, pepper, and parsley. Cook 2 minutes on High in the microwave, or until butter is melted. Arrange chicken on the baking pan, and coat with the butter mixture, reserving some of the mixture for basting. Broil chicken 20 minutes in the preheated oven, until juices run clear, turning occasionally and basting with remaining butter mixture. Sprinkle with parsley to serve.
