Overview – mini-history of three Neotropical portals• Created, or significantly expanded, in 2012–2016

• Presently housed on an Arizona State University VM server *

• Specific focus on Neotropical occurrence data and collections• Symbiota is quite good "when institutional IT resources are limited"

• We are strongly interested in recruiting/aiding more regional collections

1. STRI Collections: http://stricollections.org/ • Initially set up just for STRI; Panama-wide expansion possible

• 18 collections; 344,000 records; 17,300 species names; 23,300 images

• Among the most natural history data-rich portals in Neotropics• Of note: Checklists, DNA tissues, "TaxaGloss" (multi-lingual traits)

• Largely a work in (early-stage) progress, available for additions!• Of note: Mostly snapshot records; though extensive ID matrices coded
