Monster of the Month
Drum roll, please! November’s Monster of the Month is the one and only, Leo Fu! Leo is currently a junior and has been a Key Club member for 3 years. His favorite event that he has volunteered for is the Color Run. He attended Fall Rally North for the first time this year and loves the spirit Key Clubbers have. He says he enjoys being a part of Key Club because “Key Club is where the cool kids are and we’re cool because of what we do for our commu-nity!” When Leo isn’t volunteering, he
bakes food and plays video games.
Hi Monsters! Term 2 has flown by so quickly and there are only a few days left until Thanksgiving break (and Catching Fire but that’s not the point)! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday with your families. As for me, I’ll be at my family friend’s house playing Call of Duty and eating turkey. What’s your Thanksgiv-ing tradition? Franklin Key Club will be having a couple of events over the break! There are a few runs that you can volunteer for and spread the holiday cheer! Also, the recycling sorting party is coming up on the 23rd and please, please, please help out. For more information, turn to Upcoming Events on page 6. Have a Happy Thanksgiving break!
In service and in friendship, Sharon Hsu Franklin Key Club Bulletin Editor

PAST EVENTS Safe and Super Halloween: A Hobbit
Adventure SHARON HSU Bulletin Editor Miniature superheroes, princesses, and monsters scurried about as they rushed to complete their quest of finding the candy stations. Key Clubbers dressed up in cos-tumes to help the kids celebrate Halloween by passing out candy. Fairytale Town holds an annual Halloween event with this year’s being Lord of the Rings themed. My favorite part of this event was seeing all the adorable children asking for candy in their costumes! I think my favorite costumes I saw that night were of Star Wars that a family of four wore. After the event, we also helped clean up trash and put away equipment.
Capital Apocalypse SHARON HSU Bulletin Editor What would you do if there was a zombie apocalypse? I would probably shut myself in an impenetrable fortress and arm myself to the teeth with guns. Or… I could just run for my life like these 5K runners did. In the wee hours of the morn-ing, Franklin Key Clubbers woke up to volunteer for the Capitol Apocalypse. We were placed at different stations throughout the course and helped hand out water to the runners. I also helped hand out water to the very hardworking and also very human zombies. This was one of my favorite events because not only did I get to volunteer at such a pretty place (the trail was located next to the American river) , I also got to meet people from other clubs!

Grassroot Soccer Tournament
LEO FU Member This has got to be one of the best Saturdays I've ever experienced! Franklin Key Clubbers and Franklin High students came together to take part in the Grassroot Soccer Tournament. The goal of the tour-nament was to raise money to help the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. The tournament was super fun! Even though my team, Team Conrad didn't win first place we still had fun despite me getting hit in the face by a soccer ball. This year, the games were hard since one of the teams had a roster of varsity soccer players, while the other teams consisted of people who played soccer when they were little. But that didn't discourage my team; we went out there and did our best and secured a spot as the third place team. To sum things up this will not be the last time that I will play in this soccer tourna-ment.
