•5% of drinkers considered themselves to be heavy drinkers and only 1% very heavy drinkers

•41% were concerned about the amount friends and family were drinking

•34% agreed that drunken behaviour was a problem in their local area
•65% agreed drunken behaviour was a problem in young people

•78% people agreed the police should be given more powers to tackle drunken behaviour
(support for increasing police powers increased with age i.e. 67% of 18-24 year olds compared to 89% of 75 years plus)
