The navigation systemupgrade process

1 Write the required information (model num-ber (MODEL NUMBER), device number(DEVICE NUMBER), and serial number (SE-RIAL NUMBER)) on the upgrade certifi-cates (UPGRADE CERTIFICATES).= For details, refer to Checking the model

Preparation for upgradeChecking the model numberThe model number is printed on the warrantycard or the front of the navigation system.

Checking the device number1 Press the HOME button to display the“Top Menu” screen.

2 Touch .The “Information” screen appears.

3 Touch [System Information].The device number “Device Number” of yournavigation system is displayed.

Checking the serial numberThe serial number is printed on the warrantycard. Also, on the bottom of the navigationsystem, there is a sticker on which the serialnumber “SER.NO.” is printed.

Checking the current version1 Press the HOME button to display the“Top Menu” screen.


3 Touch and hold the left upper corner.

The “Service Information” screen appears.

4 Check the version information dis-played in “Application Version”.

Upgrade procedures

! NEVER stop the engine of your vehicle orturn off the power supply to the navigationsystem until the installation is completed.Turning the power off during upgrade pro-cess causes a malfunction or failure of thenavigation system.

! No functions are available during upgradeprocess.

Upgrading the softwareprogram and the map databaseThis section describes the upgrade proce-dures for your navigation system.p The upgrade takes approximately 45 min-

utes in total.

1 Park your vehicle in a safe place andapply the parking brake.

2 Insert the upgrade microSD card intothe SD card slot.The navigation system restarts and then the in-stallation begins.

p If you are using an SD memory card com-patible model, insert a microSD card intothe SD card adapter.

p Be sure to use an SD memory card with thewrite-protect switch unlocked.

The message confirming whether or not tostart the update will appear.

3 Touch [Yes].

4 Wait until the upgrade process is com-plete.

When data installation completes, passwordlock processing starts.

The message confirming whether or not tostart the update will appear.

5 Touch [OK].

6 Wait until the update process is com-plete.Update is completed.

Checking whether the upgradewas done properlyDisplay “Information” screen to compare thecurrent version number with the previous one.

This chapter explains the changes that aremade when a navigation system with an appli-cation version of 1.05 or earlier is upgradedusing this product.

For smartphone usersSetting the display size for theAndroid video playbackp This function is only available in AppRadio

Mode (HDMI connection) on the Android.You can change the size of Android videoimage to fit it to the screen.

1 Display the AppRadio Mode screen.

The “Edit/Settings” screen appears.

4 Touch [App Settings].The “App Settings” menu appears.

6 Touch the item to adjust the size of theAndroid window.

For iPhone with a Lightningconnector usersThis product provides AppRadio Mode sup-port and video playback for the iPhone with aLightning connector.p The following cables are required for con-

However, functions re-lated to iPod video files and AppRadioMode are not available. Streaming Pandora® andusing Aha RadioStarting procedureThe procedure varies depending on the type ofdevice.

For iPhone with 30-pin connector users

1 Set “App Connection Settings” to“iPhone”, and “iPod Connection Settings”to “30-pin Connector”.



2 Start up the Pandora or Aha applicationinstalled on the iPhone.

p Before starting up, sign in to Pandora orAha Radio from your iPhone.

3 Connect your iPhone.p If the iPhone is already connected, touch

[Pandora] or [aha] on the left side of thescreen.

5 Touch [Pandora] or [aha] on the leftside of the screen to display the “Pandora”or “aha” screen.

6 Use the touch panel keys on the screento control the Pandora or Aha Radio.

For iPhone with Lightning connectorusers

1 Set “App Connection Settings” to“iPhone”, and “iPod Connection Settings”to “Digital AV/VGA”.



2 Register your iPhone and connect it tothis product via Bluetooth wireless technol-ogy.

3 Unlock your iPhone.

Registering your BluetoothdevicesYou need to register your devices featuringBluetooth wireless technology when you con-nect it for the first time. A total of 5 devicescan be registered. Two registration methodsare available:! Searching for nearby Bluetooth devices! Pairing from your Bluetooth devices

Searching for nearby BluetoothdevicesThe system searches for available Bluetoothdevices near the navigation system, displaysthem in a list, and registers them for connec-tion.

1 Activate the Bluetooth wireless tech-nology on your devices.For some Bluetooth devices, no specific actionis necessary to activate Bluetooth wirelesstechnology. For details, refer to the instructionmanual of your devices.

2 Touch [Phone].The “Phone” screen appears.

3 Touch [Bluetooth Settings].The “Bluetooth Settings” screen appears.

4 Touch [Registration].The “Device list” screen appears.The system searches for Bluetooth deviceswaiting for a connection and displays them inthe list if a device is found.

p Up to 10 devices will be listed in the orderthat the devices are found.

5 Wait until your Bluetooth device ap-pears in the list.

p If you cannot find the Bluetooth device thatyou want to connect, check that the deviceis waiting for a Bluetooth wireless technol-ogy connection.

6 Touch the Bluetooth device name youwant to register.

# If you touch [Search], the system startssearching for Bluetooth devices waiting for con-

nection, and displays them in the list formatwhen any devices are detected.

7 Pair this navigation system with yourBluetooth device.When the Bluetooth device connects to thisproduct for the first time, a pairing operationis needed to specify the device to connect.How the pairing is performed varies depend-ing on the Bluetooth device. Perform pairingaccording to the screen instructions for thisproduct or Bluetooth device. Refer to the in-struction manual of your devices to register(registration and authentication of device).After registering, a confirmation message ap-pears.

8 Touch [OK].The registration is complete, and the device isconnected as a hands-free phone.You can perform the following setting depend-ing on the Bluetooth device registered.

! Transferring the phone bookYou can transfer the phone book to the navi-gation system if the registered Bluetoothdevice features PBAP (Phone Book AccessProfile).If you touch [Yes], you can transfer thewhole phone book to the navigation system,and then the message that transfer is fin-ished appears.

! Selecting whether to use the BluetoothaudioYou can select whether to use theBluetooth audio function if the registeredBluetooth device features Bluetooth audio.

The message “Is this Android?” appears.

9 Touch [No].The message “Is this device equipped with aDigital AV/VGA Connector?” appears.

10 Touch [Yes].The message “Do you want to set this de-vice for the AppRadio Mode?” appears.

11 Touch [Yes] if you use the AppRadioMode with a device you registered.

! Yes:Allows you to proceed to the next step.

! No:

12 Touch [OK].

Pairing from your BluetoothdevicesYou can register the Bluetooth device by set-ting the navigation system to standby modeand requesting connection from the Bluetoothdevice.

Problems in the procedures for updating

Symptom Cause Action

The upgrade process doesn’tstart and the navigation systemboots up as usual.

An incorrect microSD card hasbeen inserted.

Eject the inserted microSD card and insertthe correct upgrade microSD card.

Upgrade has been already done. Check whether the upgrade was done prop-erly. If the upgrade has not been done yet,consult the nearest authorized service sta-tion.

The screen that cannot begin theupgrade process is displayed.

Eject the upgrade microSD card, and displaythe map of your current position, and then re-insert the upgrade microSD card.

The navigation system does notwork properly after upgrade.

The engine of your vehicle wasstopped or the power supply to thenavigation system was turned offduring upgrade process.

! Aucune fonction n’est disponible pendantle processus de mise à niveau.

Mise à niveau du programmelogiciel et de la base dedonnées de la carteCette partie décrit les procédures de mise àjour pour votre système de navigation.p La mise à jour prend environ 45 minutes en

tout.

1 Stationnez votre véhicule en lieu sûr etserrez le frein à main.

2 Insérez la carte microSD de mise à ni-veau dans la fente de carte SD.Le système de navigation redémarre puis l’ins-tallation commence.

p Si vous utilisez un modèle compatible avecla carte mémoire SD, insérez une cartemicroSD dans l’adaptateur de carte SD.

p Veillez à utiliser une carte mémoire SD avecle commutateur de protection contre l’écri-ture déverrouillé.

Le message confirmant le lancement ou nonde la mise à jour apparaît.

3 Touchez [Oui].

4 Patientez jusqu’à ce que le processusde mise à niveau se termine.

Lorsque l’installation des données est termi-née, le traitement de verrouillage par mot depasse commence.

Problèmes dans les procédures de mise à jour
