Regulations 2019

The regulations are divided into:

1 - General part

2 - Quadcopter Pro section

3 - Quadcopter Standard Section

4 - Quadcopter Tiny section

General principles:

Divisions 1:

The Regulations General Part contains information that applies to all classes.

Proposals to change/extend the general section must be approved by the Sports Commission. The

Presidium may decide by majority vote to supplement and amend the regulations if action is

required at short notice.

Under no circumstances may they override decisions already taken and must be submitted as a

request for final adoption at the following meeting.

Applications for rule changes or amendments will only be accepted in writing in a detailed form.

Please send your application to [email protected] with the subject "Rules and regulations

Application by ...".

Division parts 2 to 4:

The Regulations for Divisions 2 to 4 contain additions to the general section that apply exclusively

to the corresponding division.

Changes and extensions to the regulations of the divisions are introduced by the commissioners at

an annual meeting.

Basically applies:

The regulations will be presented at the following Sport Commissioner meetings.

Before publication, the regulatory amendment shall be published in a transparent manner.

Changes during the year have to be published on the Drone Championship homepage in time and

are valid from then on.

1. General part

1.1. Conditions of participation in FPV races The participants of a competition must be in possession of a valid insurance certificate, unless

otherwise specified. Pilots who do not have insurance when entering a race for the Drone

Championship are not allowed to fly. This also applies to foreign pilots without proof of insurance.

Participants take part in the competition at their own risk. They are solely responsible under civil

and private law for all damage caused by them or by models flown by them. In case of material

damage to the model and the necessary accessories, participants waive any right of action or

recourse by submitting the entry for all accidents or damage to the model suffered in connection

with the event:

- Members and volunteers

- the organizer, his representative, the sports control room, the helper

- the participants and their helpers as well as against their own helpers

- authorities and any other persons associated with the organization of the event

This agreement becomes effective upon submission of the nomination to the organizer towards all

parties involved. Each participant undertakes to follow the instructions of the race director, his

deputy, the "Drone Championships" and the sports commissioners.

1.2. Entries/ Entry fee With the submission of the entry, the regulations and the legal system are recognised as binding

for the event. Each participant acknowledges this by submitting his/her entry. Legal claims within

the meaning of the BGB are excluded for events.

- This entitles to the naming of only one event taking place on the same day. Multiple

answers in different classes are not allowed for a business event.

- Entries must be completed carefully, completely and legibly. If this is not the case,

nomination may be refused on these grounds.

- Entries must be submitted by the deadline. Entries bearing a postmark after the closing

date may be rejected. The organizer may accept entries with a late entry fee after the

entry deadline; the amount of the late entry fee must be expressly stated in the invitation

to tender.

- Entries submitted are binding, and therefore there is a payment obligation for the entry

fee stated in the call for entries and for any additional costs (e.g. insurance fee); unless the

entry is cancelled in writing before the closing date stated in the call for entries. The entry

fee must be paid by the end of the entry period, unless a different payment deadline is

Page 8: FPV rules and regulations - Aircrasher · Rules and Regulations Drone Championship Rev: 1.0 20.10.2018 Page 1 FPV rules and regulations Subscribe to DeepL Pro to edit this document.

expressly permitted in the invitation to tender (e.g. at the event on site). The payment

method (e.g. bank details, Paypal account, cash) must also be specified in the invitation to

tender.

- Entry fee is remorse money and will not be refunded. Only if an event is cancelled or

postponed for reasons within the control of the organizer must the organizer reimburse

the entry fee. Under no circumstances will the entry fee be refunded if the participant is

not at the start or withdraws the entry; this also applies to entry fees for international

competitions.

- The entry fee for the "Drone Championship" for adults is max.: 40,-- €, teenagers max.: 25,-

- €.

1.3. race performance

1.3.1. group division

The Race Director will carry out the grouping for the preliminary heats according to the

specifications of the individual sections; this must not lead to frequency problems. If possible, the

pilots of a team should be divided into different groups. The maximum number of pilots per group

depends on the local conditions, e.g. the width of the route, the size of the pilot's stand (0,80 m

per pilot) and the presence of an appropriate timing device. If there are not enough participants

(less than 16 pilots) in the individual classes, the organizer can combine these classes. This also

applies to the final group division. In the overall evaluation, the classes are evaluated separately.

1.3.2. Technical acceptance

The technical regulations specified in the regulations for the classes must be observed and

checked. For the measurement of the copter, a plate made of a material that retains its shape and

dimensions is to be used.

The measuring equipment used by the technical inspection must be available to the pilots in free

or controlled training at the start of the event. During the race the same measuring equipment

must be used as during the training. A change of the measuring equipment is not permitted at any

time during the event (in the case of possibly defective measuring equipment, the Sports

Commission decides on a change).

1.3.3. race management

The race management has the right to check the models at any time. Any model that poses a

safety risk or no longer complies with the regulations will be banned from starting and must

therefore end the race immediately. The refusal of a pilot to make the model he has flown

available for a technical examination is a serious violation of the duties of a pilot. In such a case,

Page 9: FPV rules and regulations - Aircrasher · Rules and Regulations Drone Championship Rev: 1.0 20.10.2018 Page 1 FPV rules and regulations Subscribe to DeepL Pro to edit this document.

the race director is obliged to apply for punishment by the commissioners in addition to exclusion

from the competition. The application shall be accompanied by a description of the facts and by

the testimony of the witnesses. Similarly, any other behaviour that aimed to withdraw a model

from the investigation must also be assessed.

1.3.4. sports penalties

The race director, his deputies and the official have the right to impose penalties on the pilot, the

race director and the organizer in the event of violations of the technical regulations or sporting

fairness. If necessary, the sports commissioners should be consulted. In any event, the seriousness

of the infringement must be proportionate to the penalty imposed. A decision shall be

unanimously confirmed by the Commission.

1.3.5. time penalties

If possible, "time penalties" (e.g. for unsporting flight behaviour, early take-off, etc.) should be

given as "penalty line" penalties. For this purpose, a special route is designated in the FPV flight

(penalty line). The sports commissioner (referee) and/or the race director must inform the pilot

concerned immediately and unequivocally about the granting of such a time penalty via the

loudspeaker system. The pilot must take the penalty within the next lap. If there is no more

possibility for a penalty (e.g. in the last round), the time penalty will be imposed subsequently

according to the following regulation: if a penalty time is awarded which could not be completed,

in this case the last round will be deducted. If the helper post is not taken, the punishment will be

by deducting the best preliminary run.

1.3.6. admonishment

Any pilot who intentionally flies into other models and thus slows down their flight or ends it by

crashing will receive a warning. In case of repetition, the pilot receives a request from the race

director to terminate the flight immediately. The pilot of the model has to finish the race

immediately.

1.3.7. Disqualification (deletion from the competition)

In the case of serious violations of the technical regulations, a disqualification for the

corresponding competition will take place in any case. If a participant withdraws after calling the

controls twice, he is disqualified for the next competition. If the violation is particularly serious, a

ban of up to one year and a fine (25,--€ to 250,--€) can be imposed.

If no fair punishment can be pronounced on the spot, a request for punishment by the Drone

Championship Arbitral Tribunal shall be made. The request shall be accompanied by the facts of

the case and the testimony of the witnesses. The arbitral tribunal shall have the power to impose

further penalties.

1.3.8. results lists

Minimum information that a result list must contain:

- The name of the organizer and host

- Name, type and description of the competition (class designation according to regulations)

- Place and date of the competition

- Indication of the placement, name, leading position, placement of the flown races incl.

clear indication of the times with evaluation

- Name of the race director(s) and deputy race director(s)

- Name of timekeeper(s)

- Names of the technical inspection commissioners

- Names of the sports commissioners

- Date/time when this results list was created

- Specifies which version of the corresponding timekeeping program was used to create the

result.

- The verifiability of a scoring run must be maintained.

The result lists of a Drone Championship race must be sent to [email protected] within 5 days.

Race documents (announcement, entries, lap protocols and result lists etc.) must be kept for one

year starting at the end of the season.

In case of non-compliance, the organizer of the race will be fined 100,-- €.

1.4. Protests and appeals

1.4.1. protest

The protest must be submitted in writing to the race director or, in his absence, to his

representative or to the sports commissioners. If participants of competitions or persons

entrusted with the organisation of the event violate the regulations and/or regulations of the

invitation to tender, protest against this is admissible. Applicants may only be participants who

have submitted a proper nomination or members of the Presidium. The sports commissioners and

the members of the sports commission decide on the protest according to the regulations. If one

of these persons declares himself biased, the others shall determine a replacement.

Page 11

1.4.2. protest periods

The protest must be made immediately, but in any case before the next run. If the Protest Leader

has to take a helper post after his run, the next run is the run following the exercise of the helper

post. The protest must be justified in writing within the next 15 minutes. In case of interruptions

of the race and/or publications of overall results, the protest must be made within 15 minutes at

the latest. If the posted results list is amended within the 15-minute protest period, the

participants affected by the amendment must be granted a new 15-minute protest period from

the time at which the amended results list is posted again. It is not possible to ignore the new

protest period and proceed to the distribution of prizes. If a participant is affected by the protest,

a prize won must be withheld until the final decision on this protest has been made. In all other

respects, any protest, the posting of which may change the overall classification of an event,

obliges the organiser to only draw up a provisional overall result and withhold the prizes until the

final decision has been made. The possibility of an appeal must also be considered. However, if the

protest would change the overall result only in part, the part not affected may be announced as

final and the prizes concerned may be distributed.

1.4.3. object of protest

The protest must be clearly formulated and the object of the protest clearly identifiable. Protests

which, in general formulations, call into question the regularity of a model without containing a

concrete reason for protest must be rejected as inadmissible.

1.4.4. Rejectable protests

A protest can be rejected if:

- the protest leader is not entitled to protest. Pilots who have been rejected by the

acceptance of the entry, as well as pilots who have been legally excluded from

participation or from the evaluation by the sports commissioners, no longer have the right

of protest. Participants who have dropped out or not been evaluated, on the other hand,

are still entitled to protest.

- the protest is not filed in due time.

- the protest fee is missing. The protest fee amounts to 10,-- € and must be attached to the

protest in cash or as a cheque.

- If it's a collective protest. An inadmissible collective protest is when several pilots jointly

sign and submit a protest and/or a pilot submits a protest for or against several models or

participants, even if this is the same reason. A separate protest is required for each case,

regardless of whether the pilot is the same or several.

- the protest is against the timing.

Page 12: FPV rules and regulations - Aircrasher · Rules and Regulations Drone Championship Rev: 1.0 20.10.2018 Page 1 FPV rules and regulations Subscribe to DeepL Pro to edit this document.

Page 12

- the protest is directed against the decision of a judge of purpose or fact.

- the protest is directed against the decision of a race director, which he has to make

according to the technical regulations.

- the protest takes place in general idioms and the reason for the protest is not clearly

recognizable.

- the protest is directed against a measure or decision of the sports commissioners (in this

case only the appeal is admissible).

1.4.5. protest withdrawal

Once a protest has been submitted in due form and time, it can no longer be withdrawn. If a

participant makes a mistake when submitting his protest, he may waive the hearing and decision

of his protest. The protest fee may be withheld in whole or in part and is forfeited to the organizer.

1.4.6. protest decision

If the protest leader or the person affected by the protest has not waited for the protest decision,

the right to appeal is lost, even if the protest decision is delivered later in writing in particularly

difficult cases. If a protest decision cannot be taken immediately after the interrogation of the

persons concerned, the stewards must invite the persons concerned to a judgment; this is

particularly the case for technical protests, where the models must first be examined. If the Sports

Commission is not in a position to decide on a protest, it must give detailed reasons for its decision

and refer the matter to the Court of Arbitration for a further decision within 3 days. If a protest is

rejected as unfounded, the stewards may decide whether the protest fee shall be forfeited in

whole or in part. The person who is unsuccessful in the protest is obliged to bear the costs.

1.4.7. Unjustified or malicious protests

Unjustified protests are those which primarily serve the purpose of protesting against a

competitor for any personal reasons or with the intention of compensating for a less successful

result by hoping to move up again without being burdened by the object of protest itself. This also

includes so-called courtesy protests, which are lodged in the interest or at the instigation of a third

party who does not wish to appear with his own name. In such a case, the race control is obliged

to request a punishment by the arbitral tribunal. The application shall be accompanied by a

description of the facts and by the testimony of witnesses.

1.4.8. vocation

Every pilot/participant in a competition has the right to appeal to the Court of Arbitration against

the penalties imposed by the stewards or the decisions taken by them. An appeal must be lodged

in writing with the race management within one hour of the rejection of the protest, enclosing the

appeal fee of € 50 (cash or cheque) and must be substantiated to the arbitral tribunal within 14

days. The race director must immediately send the notice of appeal to the arbitral tribunal

together with the race documents relating to the appeal. The appeal fee will only be refunded if

the appeal is complied with. If the appeal is not complied with, the fee shall be forfeited to the

arbitral tribunal. The decision of the arbitral tribunal shall be final for all parties.

1.5. Rights and duties of sports commissioners

1.5.1. sports commission

The sports commission must be determined before each competition run. For championships, the

Sport Commission must include one representative from each region of the country from which

pilots participate in the event. None of these positions may be filled in personal union.

The Sports Commission shall consist of:

- the sports commissioners

- the race director

- an official, if present

Sports commissioners should be active race directors. The stewards are appointed by the race

director. The work of the Sports Commission is honorary. The Sports Commission has full authority

to enforce compliance with the regulations and the provisions of the invitation to tender. It shall

decide on any protest lodged at an event, subject to the right of appeal in accordance with the

provisions of the regulations.

The Sports Commission may in particular:

- In the event of a violation of the regulations and the provisions, decide the nature of the

sanctions.

- Exceptionally, amend individual provisions of the invitation to tender.

- Change the composition and strength of the starting groups.

- Set a new start if the race is interrupted.

- Interrupt or cancel a race for compelling reasons.

- If necessary, make changes to the placement.

- Prohibit a pilot whose model may pose a hazard from attending the event.

- Exclude a pilot who, in the opinion of the Sport Commission, is not entitled to participate

or who is found by the Sport Commission to have performed inappropriately or to have

committed a fraudulent offence, from the individual competition or for the entire duration

of the event.

- In addition, if the person concerned opposes the orders of the Sports Commission, it may

demand that the person concerned leave the track and its surroundings.

1.5.2. race director

Race directors must be in possession of a valid race director license. Everyone can achieve this

license by being accompanied by an experienced race director as a race director in several Drone

Championship races. This race director must submit a written report about the training of a new

race director to the Drone Championship Sports Commission, in which all relevant data of the

newcomer are transmitted. The race director is responsible for the proper execution of the event

according to the official program.

He has in detail:

- to ensure order in the area of the racetrack,

- to ensure that all members of the Sports Commission are at their posts and are provided

with the documents and instructions necessary for the performance of their duties,

- to monitor the pilots and their models,

- to receive protests and to ensure that they are passed on to the Sports Commission

without delay,

- to collect the minutes of the timekeepers and inspection commissioners as well as all

necessary information for the compilation of the final result.

1.5.3. Obligations of timekeepers

The duties of the timekeepers are:

- to report to the race director at the beginning of the event in order to receive the

necessary instructions.

- to give the starting signal, if they receive the order for this from the race director.

- to use only the measuring equipment specified or approved in the invitation to tender for

timekeeping.

- to record the laps flown by each pilot and the times required to cover the route.

- to communicate the times and results only to the members of the Sport Commission, if

they have not given other instructions.

- to avoid frequency overlaps during the individual runs. This is based on the frequencies

specified by the pilot when he was named.

- depending on the class flown, inform the pilot that the transponder (VTX) transmits no or

too weak a time measurement signal.

1.5.4. Acceptance commissioners (technical acceptance)

The inspection commissioners are in charge of every kind of control on the observance of the

regulations on the models. They must exercise their control before the event and, if necessary, on

the instructions of the race management. The individual sections can define minimum

requirements. They may only communicate the results of the investigation to the members

of the Sports Commission. The technical inspection is aware of the fact that these provisions

represent a catalogue of maximum requirements and that no participant has a legal claim to

fulfilment.

1.5.5. votes

Voting within the Sports Commission shall be decided by a simple majority of the members

appointed before the start of the event.

1.6. race procedure

1.6.1. General provisions

1.6.1.1. attendee

The participants (pilots) must report to the organizer before the start of the training.

1.6.1.2. pilot briefing

The decisions of the race management must be announced in the pilots' meeting. These are in

detail:

- the number of pilots per group,

- the start procedure,

- Punishment line,

- the mode of the finals,

- all other special features of the course of the race.

All pilots are obliged to take part in the pilot meeting. Unpardoned absence will be punished

with a time penalty of 10 seconds to the best lead time.

1.6.2. Pilots and helpers

All participants are obliged to behave in a sporting and fair manner. This applies in particular to

the way of flying and consultations with an assistant during a run on the pilot's stand.

- The helpers may not hinder a participant at any time.

- No one may enter the airfield during a run.

- A maximum of one assistant per pilot is permitted at all racing events.

- Each pilot is obliged to act as an assistant for the subsequent run or for a run determined

by the race control. With the approval of the race control a replacement can be provided.

If the replacement is rejected by the race management, the race management must

nominate a replacement. In case of non-compliance, a round will be deducted from the

best pre-run (after the end of the pre-runs, there will be only one best pre-run that will be

evaluated, from this round the round will be deducted). Of course, the second best run will

not be used for the evaluation) or the final run for final races. The penalty will only be

applied after the end of all preliminary heats or after the final or final heats.

- In the area of the race track and on the pilot's stand there is an absolute ban on mobile

phones for participants and helpers.

- Smoking is forbidden on the track and on the pilot's stand.

1.6.3. radio remote control

Before the start of the race or the official training, the radio remote control or the radio remote

control module must be handed in at the transmitter acceptance and distribution. After calling up

the race or training run, the participant collects his radio remote control or the radio remote

control module from the transmitter output. At the end of the run or training, the participant

must immediately return the switched-off radio remote control or the radio remote control

module when the transmitter is accepted. According to the race control another regulation is

permitted during the training, however it must be ensured that only one transmitter of the

respective frequency is operated at a time. Changing the frequency after handing over the radio

remote control or the radio remote control module is only permitted with the approval of the race

management. When handing over the radio remote control or the radio remote control module,

the frequency must correspond to the frequency announced by the race director. The pilots with

the worse lead time or final time may have to change frequency. If all or the majority of the

participants use systems in the 2.4 GHz range, a transmitter levy can be dispensed with. The

decision will be made by the race director and announced at the pilots' meeting.

1.6.4. pilotage

Every pilot has the right to leave the podium at any time. However, he may not obstruct any other

participant during the race. Only the pilots of the respective race are allowed to be on the pilots'

platform. The size (width) of the pilot's stand must be such that each pilot has at least 0.80 m

available. Pilots and helpers (spotters) may communicate openly with each other and report

current incidents to the race director at an appropriate volume.

1.6.5. models

If a model comes outside the flight zone, it is out of the race. A model with a technical defect must

be removed from the race immediately. A model flying on the field has right of way, accordingly it

has to be observed when approaching the landing zone. Repairs on the airfield are not permitted.

1.6.6. Start/ Scoring

The race director decides whether a run should be stopped or repeated. This is only permissible if

there are compelling reasons (defective timing, proven frequency interference, etc.). Single start is

permitted. This must be announced in the pilot briefing. The models of a leader group are started

one after the other at a fixed distance. The prerequisite for the individual start is the presence of

an appropriate time measuring device. When any model has completed a lap, all clocks of the

pilots not yet started at that time are automatically started. If no model is started within one

minute of the first model being called or the start signal, all clocks are started automatically. The

scoring is based on laps and time. Laps that a model does not complete on its own are not

counted. Only pilots who have completed at least one lap are eligible for the finals.

1.6.7. race duration

At the end of the race distance (time plus last lap) the models have to fly to the landing zone

immediately. The time the pilot must be given to complete the last lap shall not exceed twice the

lap time, but not less than 30 seconds.

1.6.8. Early Start Final Runs

If there is an early start during the final runs, the pilot concerned must fly a penalty line; this

penalty line will be announced at the pilot meeting and must have flown at the latest in the

second round of the race.

1.6.9. timing

When using an electronic timing system, the evaluations are binding. The lap time protocols shall

be posted immediately. If the time is taken with transponders, the pilot is responsible for the

installation of the transponder. When using a personal transponder, the pilot is responsible for the

correct operating condition. The race control has to make a test possible for the pilot before the

call to the start of a run.

1.7. Regulations for remote controls, FPV transmitters and models

1.7.1. General provisions for remote controls

All remote controls must comply with the regulations of the regulatory authority ( Federal

Network Agency ). Exceptions to this rule are only permitted for international competitions after

consultation with the Federal Network Agency. Only remote controls which allow changing the

transmission frequency and remote controls which automatically search for a free transmission

Page 18: FPV rules and regulations - Aircrasher · Rules and Regulations Drone Championship Rev: 1.0 20.10.2018 Page 1 FPV rules and regulations Subscribe to DeepL Pro to edit this document.

Page 18

frequency (e.g. in the frequency range 2.4 GHz) are permitted. The pilot cannot request the

allocation of a free frequency for the aforementioned remote controls.

1.7.2. FPV transmitter

For the transmission of the live image from the copter, only VTX transmitters approved by the

organizer may be used. The organizer has the right to check this at any time during the technical

acceptance test. Every pilot has to adjust his VTX to his frequency immediately after official

posting. For this the organizer has to take a break of at least 15 minutes. If a pilot does not get his

transmitter set during this time (technical defect, software problem), he must contact the

timekeeper and from then on he may only connect the model to the transmitter on the

instructions of the race director to switch the transmitter to the correct frequency.

1.7.3. Disturbances and image failures

1.7.3.1. Control at pre-runs:

- It is absolutely forbidden to change the frequency in the starting grid.

- If a pilot cannot start on his own model due to an incorrectly set frequency, the start may

not be delayed for him or the run repeated.

- If a pilot has not set his frequency correctly on the model and thus obstructs the race, the

best lead is cancelled.

- If a transmitter or antenna on the model is demonstrably defective and interferes with

other pilots due to image interference, this run is cancelled for the pilot concerned and the

rest of the group gets a second chance.

- Image failures during a race are only considered as such if they occur for longer than one

second. Here the video proof is to be furnished by the pilot (DVR). The pilot concerned

gets a second chance (rerun) in an extra group.

- If a picture falls immediately into the black screen, a technical defect is to be assumed,

therefore the pilot has no right to a repetition of the run.

1.7.3.2. Regulation during the finals:

- Each climber is assigned a new frequency immediately after his run, which he must change

immediately in the presence of the race director.

- No pilot may change his frequencies on the starting grid without the consent of the race

director.

- Picture failures during the final runs will only be recognised from the quarter finals

onwards.

Page 19

- Crashes caused by image disturbances after the quarter finals are flown alone and

immediately after and the corresponding placement in the system is added. The run is not

repeated with all pilots.

- If a defective transmitter is found before the starting signal, the corresponding pilot will

not start and his model will be taken out of the race.

- Image disorders in the model that are proven to be self-inflicted do not get a second

chance.

- If a picture falls immediately into the black screen, a technical defect is to be assumed,

therefore the pilot has no right to a repetition of the run.

1.7.4. Electronic flight aids

Automatic control is not allowed; flight controls running in level, acro or air mode are not affected.

A violation of this rule is considered gross unsportsmanship and is subject to a one-year ban.

Only signals of the model that are necessary for the operation of the model, such as volt display

and RSSI values, are allowed.

1.8. Regulations for the conduct of championships

1.8.1. General provisions

The general provisions shall apply to all predicates awarded unless otherwise specified in the

special provisions.

1.8.1.1. conditions of participation

By submitting the entry for a predicate competition, each applicant expressly acknowledges the

above and following provisions and principles as binding. Participation obliges the applicant to

maintain a sporting attitude and fairness towards all other applicants, the organizers and all

officials, the Drone Championship and all bodies and authorities. Agreements and attitudes of

applicants for the purpose of a more favourable evaluation or the like are prohibited and shall be

regarded as a violation of these provisions. Violations of these provisions and self-evident

obligations shall be punished by the arbitral tribunal.

1.8.2. overall evaluation

The overall evaluation of the predicate competitions for an advertised predicate is currently

carried out by the Aircrasher team.

1.8.2.1. Evaluation:

If there is equality of points at championships, the following regulation applies: In case of equality

of points after the last scoring run, the larger number of the first, then the second and possibly

further places of the pilots with the same points will decide. If none of the pilots with the same

number of points has advantages, the strike results decide in the same way. If none of the pilots

with the same number of points has advantages, the better position in the last race will decide. It

is binding, incontestable and takes place under exclusion of the legal way. Only results according

to placement in the official predicate competitions recognised by the Drone Championship will be

judged. If a participant is disqualified or excluded at an event, this run cannot be used as a strike

result.

1.8.3. Publication of the invitation to tender

Announcements for all races and events must be submitted in electronic form to the responsible

person at least three weeks before the closing date for entries. The tenders must also be available

in electronic form on the Aircrasher homepage at least two weeks before the closing date for

entries for all pilots flying for the same rating. All tenders should be sent to the following address:

Gates must have a clearance height of at least 160 cm and a plinth width of 320 cm for a

semicircular shape; the opening for a square shape must be at least 200 cm x 200 cm (larger is

always possible). Exceptions for goal dimensions are only possible after consultation with the

sports commissioners.

2.4.2.2. Route planning

When planning the route, this must be strictly observed:

- There must be at least 8 metres of space between the boundary of the track (net) and the

track.

- The distance between pilot and track must be at least a quarter of the maximum distance.

- Goals and flags must be set in such a way that there is room for at least 10 metres from the

apex of an obstacle to the next apex.

- Flags in the slalom may meet at the apex after 5 meters; this ensures a minimum distance

of 10 meters between the flags.

Indoor routes are adapted to the local conditions, therefore serious deviations from the standard

regulations may occur!

2.4.3. Duration of the event / schedule

Maximum duration 2.5 days. Championships maximum 4 days. Sunday at least two heats must be

flown. Training in groups is at the discretion of the race director; Saturday the qualifying heats and

Sunday the final heats will be flown after the qualifying heats. Depending on the weather forecast,

races can be brought forward by one day so that the final takes place on Saturday and Sunday

serves as an alternative day. This decision is made by the race director together with the sports

commission.

2.4.4. Pilots and helpers

Every pilot is obliged to take up an assistant post after his run or after the division by the race

management or to provide a replacement if necessary. The classification of the helper posts is the

responsibility of the race director. Young people up to the age of 14 are not allowed to take on

helper positions. The affected person has to provide appropriate replacement in coordination with

the race director.

2.4.4.1. Helpers and their duties

Each pilot is obliged to exercise his or her position as helper in a highly concentrated manner.

Every helper acts as a referee during this time and has to inform the pilot immediately in case of

flight errors and to inform the race director about mistakes if necessary.

2.4.5. Grouping of preliminary heats

In FPV races, the group division is at the discretion of the race director. Groups are grouped

according to the Standard and Pro classes. The groups must not be mixed except as described in

Part A.

2.4.6. Evaluation of the preliminary heats

In FPV races only the classification according to "laps and time" is allowed. It is evaluated as

follows:

- 3 heats - the best run will be judged

- 4 heats - the two best heats can be evaluated

- 5 or more heats - the two best heats must be scored

2.4.7. Bad weather Rating

If, for compelling reasons (heavy rain, accident, force majeure, etc.), the race must be interrupted

for more than 60 minutes, the race director will decide with the sports commissioners whether

the event must be stopped. Team leaders should be consulted on this decision. The termination is

to be mentioned in the race evaluation. If not all pre-runs take place under the same weather

conditions, the following regulation comes into force: Before each run the race director must

decide whether the following run is an equivalent one under these weather conditions. It is

Page 25: FPV rules and regulations - Aircrasher · Rules and Regulations Drone Championship Rev: 1.0 20.10.2018 Page 1 FPV rules and regulations Subscribe to DeepL Pro to edit this document.

hereby agreed that a race shall be deemed to be of equal value until otherwise announced by the

race management. The race director in conjunction with the sports commission may also declare

the race to be equivalent during or after a run. If rain sets in during a run, all pilots must land

immediately for safety reasons.

2.4.8. abortion of a race

If there is an unflyability of the track, a storm (extremely heavy rain, thunderstorm, hail, snow,

accident) or a defect in the equipment relevant to the event, a race must be interrupted by the

race director. The race director, together with the sports commission, decides by majority vote

whether the event is to be continued or cancelled altogether. If the race is aborted, the following

is to be rated:

- If the race has to be aborted during the first 50% of the pre-runs, the race will not be

counted.

- If a race is abandoned after 50% of the pre-runs, the pre-run order will be used for the

evaluation and the run will be evaluated.

- If the race between the sub-final races B and A is stopped, the rest will be evaluated

according to the preliminary races.

- If a race is aborted before 50% of the flight time of a sub-final run has been reached, this

run will not be counted.

- If a race is aborted only after 50% of the flight time in a sub-final run, the standings at this

point in time will be considered as the result.

- If the final race (last 8 pilots) is aborted before reaching the first 2/3 of the flight time, this

run will not be counted. Finalists will be judged according to the preliminary result.

- If the final race (last 8 pilots) is aborted after 2/3 of the running time, the standings at this

point in time will be considered as the result.

2.4.9. Start of the heats

The start of the pre-runs takes place after the individual pilots have been called: Drone 1, Drone 2,

Drone 3.………

2.4.10. Duration/number of pre-runs

In championships at least 3 heats must be flown, the flight duration must be at least 2 minutes.

2.4.11. After a pre-run

The models are to be brought to the technical inspection immediately after the run. If a pilot's

model is declared to not conform to the rules, this model will remain in technical acceptance until

the respective pilot has been informed of the decision.

2.4.12. Final and Stage Mode Classification

The mode of competition must be announced in the call for entries. Currently only the "ladder

system" (A/B system) has proven to be successful, therefore only this system is recommended and

used.

For championships, only the following mode is allowed:

- Discharge mode with a maximum of 1 directly qualified pilot

- climber

- 8 pilots per group = the two best pilots climb up

- 7 pilots per group = the two best pilots climb up

- 6 pilots per group = the two best pilots climb up

- 5 pilots per group = the two best pilots climb up

- 4 pilots per group = the best pilot climbs up

- 3 pilots per group = the best pilot climbs up

2.5. Final Repeat In case of a collision after the start during the finals the following rules will be applied:

- There will be repetitions only after the quarter finals.

- There are repetitions only after an immediate crash, which is related to the collision.

- There are repetitions only if the collision took place in the previously announced area.

- The race director decides on a repetition.

- A run may only be repeated once at a time.

- In case of a repetition, the race director must give 5 minutes so that the participants can

bring their models back into position and change their lipos if necessary.

2.5.1. starting grid

The models have to be staggered at a distance of at least 2 meters behind each other. If sufficient

space is available, the distance must be extended up to 3 metres. The leader has the right to

choose the side. A staggered starting grid is permitted if possible. It is expressly forbidden to use

one's own starting ramp, as a rule the organizer will provide suitable starting platforms. Otherwise

the pilots start from the ground.

semicircular shape; the opening for a square shape must be at least 200 cm x 200 cm (larger is

always possible). Exceptions for goal dimensions are only possible after consultation with the

sports commissioners.

Example how to build a track (picture will soon be

replaced by a better example):

3.4.3. Duration of the event / schedule

Maximum duration 2.5 days. Championships maximum 4 days. Sunday at least two heats must be

flown. Training in groups is at the discretion of the race director, Saturday the qualifying heats and

Sunday the final heats will be flown after the qualifying heats. Depending on the weather forecast,

races can be brought forward by one day so that the final takes place on Saturday and Sunday

serves as an alternative day. This decision is made by the race director together with the sports

commission.

3.4.4.1. Helpers and their duties

Every pilot is obliged to be highly concentrated in his or her work. Every helper acts as a referee

during this time and has to inform the pilot immediately in case of flight errors and to inform the

race director about mistakes if necessary.

3.4.5. Grouping of preliminary heats

For FPV races, the group division is at the discretion of the race director. Groups are grouped

according to the Standard and Pro classes. The groups must not be mixed except as described in

Part A.

It is

hereby agreed that a race shall be deemed to be of equal value until otherwise announced by the

race management. The race director in conjunction with the sports commission may also declare

the race to be equivalent during or after a run. If rain sets in during a run, all pilots must land

immediately for safety reasons.

3.4.8. abortion of a race

3.4.9. Start of the heats

The start of the pre-runs takes place after the individual pilots have been called: Drone 1, Drone 2,

Drone 3.………

3.4.10. Duration/number of pre-runs

In championships at least 3 heats must be flown, the flight duration must be at least 2 minutes.

3.4.11. After a pre-run

The models are to be brought to the technical inspection immediately after the run. If a pilot's

model is declared to not conform to the rules, this model will remain in technical acceptance until

the respective pilot has been informed of the decision.

3 pilots per group = the best pilot climbs up

In case of a repetition, the race director must give 5 minutes so that the participants can bring

their models back into position and change their lipos if necessary.

-

3.5.1. starting grid

3.5.3. Pilot and helper

Every pilot is obliged to act as a helper for the next group or the next final after the end of his run,

or (only with the permission of the race control) to provide a replacement. The following rules

apply to the final races:

final helpers

1/256 B 1/128 B

1/4 A 1/2 A

1/2 B Non-climbers 1/4 B

1/2 A Non-climbers 1/4 A

Final Non-Advanced 1/2 B and A

In the event of non-compliance, a round will be deducted from all pre-runs scored. The penalty

will only apply after all preliminary heats have been completed. If a pilot from a final does not take

up his position as a helper, he will be disqualified for the entire event. The disqualification takes

effect immediately, the starting place remains free.

3.5.4. timing

Only time measurement systems that have standard functions and function without the developer

of the software on site may be used.

Minimum system requirements:

- Automatic evaluation after the pre-runs

- Automatic printout after completion of a run

- Automatic grouping according to the pre-runs

- possibility to edit faulty measurements

- Storage of the minutes of each race in an editable file format

Our recommendation is currently "Live Time FPV"; should other systems come onto the market,

we are of course open to everything and will also check new systems for compliance with the

standard requirements.
